davao is becoming like forks...

minus the snow, perhaps! hahaha!!

it's been two whole overcast weeks! omg!! it's the first time we ever experienced having overcast skies straight. i can't even remember how the sun looks like anymore! hahaha!!

trust me, it's so cold! i don't know how cold it could get, but i'm starting to feel the effect of climate change. yeah, you may say it's because it's december, but it was different. we're still in a tropical country and it wasn't like this last year! =p

anyways, the weather really is freaking me out. i wake up one morning and when i look out of the window and see the dark skies, i would think that it was still too early and i would go back to sleep, not realizing that it was already past ten or something.

it's raining right now. news had predicted that it'll be raining on a new year. haha!! it's true, isn't it?

we also already had the year-ender earthquake here. had it twice. first was last monday, i think. intensity 4. then the other was yesterday, it was intensity one only. i was expecting it to happen tomorrow, on new year as it usually happens... haha!!

anyways, happy new year, everyone! i'm making a video to greet you all!! i love you guys! you've been a great part of my 2008!

i hope i could see a lot of you next year! i have lots of plans and i don't think a year is enough to do them all, but who knows!!

just that, i love you sooo much!! =]

HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR! =]

P.S. sorry for the incoherent blog. i'm not myself lately. =p

Eagle Eye

Ok, I'm an official Shia Labeouf fan! He's really a great actor and soo cute!

But I noticed he loves to make films that are really, really weird!

From the Transformers, to Indiana Jones, to Disturbia, and now, Eagle Eye. I think he was also in the part 3 of Charlie's Angels, if I'm not mistaken.

Anyway, so I spoke of weird. Yes, Eagle Eye is a really weird movie, but I like it though. It shows the speed of modernity our world in approaching and how scary this modernization could get if not controlled.

Modernization has lots of pros and cons. One of the cons is that it could be used fo terrorism, like in Eagle Eye. Imagine a computer controlling everything you do and determining which among your loved ones should it kill.

Shia did a great job here! And Michelle Monaghan is also a definite action star in the movie, not just some lame leading lady! =]

7 Things I Hate About MILEY CYRUS

I went up to TG Forum the other night to check out some violators. There's this thread about "Reasons why you hate Miley Cyrus" I read through it to see if it violated anything and as I read, I couldn't help but agree to what the members were saying about Miley Cyrus.

So I didn't lock the thread. HAHA! Sorry about that. There were no violations in the thread though.

So I made this blog to break down the 7 things that I hate about Miley Cyrus.

7. She's not pretty. Ok, must be overrated but then I couldn't help noticing that whatever she does to her face, she still looks like the same. Looks so much like her dad.

6. I could pluck on her teeth all day and night and nothing will change. If you're a performer, you should at least pay attention to the part of your body that is always seen. Say, your mouth. Miley's got a huge mouth and combinations of huge teeth that she could scare Godzilla!

5. She destroyed the Disnyemania 5 version of Part of Your World. What the fuck? Since when did the Little Mermaid soundtrack belong in a rock and roll genre? She totally destroyed the beauty of the song.

4. She totally wrecked the JUST STAND UP song. God! I couldn't believe when I saw the video that she was included among those other music icons! She ruined the song big time! I was just glad that she only sang a few lines but still...

3. She isn't a good role model for the kids. Like Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Lynn Spears, she's got a lot of secrets up her sleeve that doesn't make her a good model for kids. Maybe if she isn't a Disney girl, I could have ignored it. She ruined the reputation od Disney though.

2. She doesn't have any good talent. Well, she acts, but I don't see her going beyond Disney TV. And probably if it isn't for her dad, she wouldn't have Hannah Montana to herself.

1. She doesn't have a good voice. Her voice is so irritating and she sounds so manly. Most of the time, I can only hear screaming. Yes, Miley loves to scream and she considers it singing.

There are lots of great artists out there. Why was Disney so desperate to push Miley to the top? I mean compared to Demi Lovato or Selena Gomez, Miley just looked like a frustrated singing contest participant.

I'm sorry. Miley lovers out there, you're free to comment and defend your idol. I'm just stating my opinion. Go do yours.

OMG!!! Marky Cielo is dead!!!! @_@

Please read this article from PEP.

So my sister was the one who first told me about this a while ago. She came up here and said, "Patay na si Marky Cielo" and I was silent for a while then, "Ha?"

Wow! I thought she was kidding, but she looked somber and I knew how much she liked Marky.

Marky is one of the few whom I actually liked in GMA-7. He's a great actor and his deep family roots is what made him more interesting.

At 20, it was so unbelievable that someone like him would just die like that. I was even thinking, "Oh no, not another Rico Yan."

There was no news yet on how he died. The only thing I knew from the news was that he died in his sleep, which of course seemed impossible, for I am a nurse and I know that one doesn't simply die in his sleep unless he forgets to breathe.

Of course, I wouldn't suspect that Marky forgot to breathe.

And I also didn't want to suspect that it was drugs or something. Marky is a really nice guy, as far as I'm concerned and I know, in the height of his career (being in LaLola, a TV series in GMA that is still on air), he wouldn't try to waste his life.

I just hope they would be able to identify the cause of death sooner and for now, condolences to the family that Marky has left.

He'll be another legend in the showbiz industry.

Disturbia

First of all, Shia is really, really cute! Haha! This Transformers hottie has actually proven he could be a hero on a suspense-thriller film.

Disturbia tells of a house-arrested kid who spent most of his boring days spying on neighbors until he discovered that one of them was a serial killer.

With the help of his pretty new neighbor and happy-go-lucky buddy, they put a surveillance to prove their doubt.

It was sort of just a twist of funny events by the beginning and the real action happened towards the end. All those moments, true friendship and deep love has been created and the quest for the real truth has been proved dangerous after all.

Allin all, it was good. It had the heart-stopping scenes, but I wished they started it by the middle of themovie, not close towards the end.

Feast

One thing I like about this movie.

Unlike those typical gruesome movies where the prey would accidentally get stranded on the predator's land and would be subjected for dinner, the Feast had shown a different twist of events. In this movie, it is the predator that actually visited the place where the preys were.

And unluckily for them, it was in a country pub where a lot of ill-assorted strangers have fallen victim to this flesh-hungry family.

The bad part? The family doesn't look human at all! Haha! And they also don't look like mutants or something. In fact, they looked like aliens.

And the movie concentrated so much on the killings and violence and sex, that they weren't able to satiate the need of the viewers to understand who and what those predators are.

You'll be satisfied with the showers of blood and flying body parts though.

Fog

Oh, I didn't know if it was a low-budget film or what. I was disappointed with the effects. But the story was good.

It was just so corny! LOL! I couldn't quite decide on how to describe this fucking feeling I have when watching the movie.

The suspense was just right, but it was lame. It could have been good if only the ghostly effects weren't so bad. Or if they didn't end it dramatically. LOL!

Oh well, it still deserved a three though. =]

The Jacket

Ok, I admit. This is the only mind-boggling movie that I never did understand. Haha!

This is probably gonna be the shortest review that I'll ever make.

I slept through the middle of the movie and when I woke up, they were still talking. The scene shifts constantly from the year 1993 to 2007 and I ended up wondering why the hell was it rated in a suspense/thriller genre.

Alright, enough of this. Pretty lame movie.

yes, i deliberately sang for you...

OMFG!!! a friend of mine has reminded me of this pretty old story when we were texting a while ago..

here goes...

a girl broke up with her boyfriend but she couldn't deny that she was still madly in love with him. they were estranged for several months but she couldn't suppress the fact that she missed him despite the reason of their break-up.

he cheated on her. he broke her heart..shattered it. she wasn't able to forgive him right away yet, when all the anger eased up, she couldn't bring herself to keep on hating him.

she tried to move on. going out with girlfriends to try to forget the pain she was feeling. she never talked about it, she never cried. she kept on laughing at jokes, smile at intended times. in short, she tried so hard to fool everyone that she was even convinced, herself.

then she and her girlfriends went to the mall. they were just there, planning to stroll and watch a movie, but she was dumbstruck when she saw the last person that she wanted to see who could ruin her day - her ex-boyfriend.

he was on a cafe, seated on the platform, with a guitar in his arms. he was talking. the girl tried to get away but her girlfriends pulled her inside the cafe. the bell rang when they entered and the ex-boyfriend looked up. his face lit up for a fraction of a second, but was replaced by a look of surprise upon recognizing who the newcomer was.

the girl and her friends were ushered on an empty table, "it's an acoustic night," the waitress said.

the girls giggled except for her. she kept her eyes on the table during that entire dilemma. but she wasn't able to hold for long when her ex-boyfriend started to speak.

"me and my special someone discovered this next song while the two of us were browsing random FM frequencies. we recognized the female lead singer's voice and knew that she was one of our favorites.

"we listened to the song, until the end and then, we both decided that it would be included in our short list of favorite songs.

"i'm singing this tonight, because that special someone has never left my heart, even if we're already apart."

then, he looked at her, in time when she also looked up. they both stared into each others' eyes and he smiled. he smiled the irresistible smile that he always reserved for her.

all their memories came flooding onto her brain like a plague. as the music started, her heart began racing faster, until she felt numb.

of course, she remembered that moment when they discovered the song. even before the song played, she already knew what it was.

her ex-boyfriend sang BROKEN by Seether and Amy Lee. the two of them had sang the song many times together and she felt her whole body was shaking as the song continued.

by the middle of the song, the girl caught her strength and stood up. she went out of the cafe without looking back. her girlfriend followed after her. she was walking so fast away from the cafe, away from the music, and away from the suffocating feeling that the environment was giving her.

she still didn't cry although her heart ached like it wouldn't heal again. she wouldn't try to win him back, yet, she knew that although she would be able to forget about him in the future, a tiny part of her heart would still long for him.

why i was reminded of the story? my friend told me that he was watching the BROKEN video on youtube. haha!!

txt wrds...

TXT WRDS...SHRTCUT KEYS...

we do it all the time when we're texting. we omit some letters in the words to shorten it and fit it into the 160-character capacity of cellphones.

but i know we also encounter it in computers. we see it in multiply comment boxes, friendster comment boxes, myspace, forums and even in instant messaging systems.

well, seeing those shortcut words annoys me so much. because there were times when i would have a hard time understanding what the word was because it was too short. there were times when i would spend a couple of minutes trying to decipher those letters. i was like, "what was that? can you type it properly? i'm not a cellphone!"

i mean, for heaven's sake, why can't you just type the correct spelling? is it really too hard? you were given an unlimited space on the internet, or in your computer, to type anything you want. you were even given 26 separate keys on your keyboard so you could type the words with ease.

then why do you still have to waste your time, trying to type in shortcut keys? i tried doing it, and i find it really hard to do, because i'm used to typing the whole words in the computer.

just think about it. you're in the cyberworld! you meet people who don't know you from head to toe. you don't only talk to your friends and not all people can understand your version of shortcut words and not everyone are fond of reading STUF LYK DIS! i'm one of those, that's why this kind of thing annoys me big time!

save yourself from annoying others. JUST TYPE PROPERLY. IT WON'T KILL YOU!!!

anyway, let's go back to the SMS thing on cellphones. you know those shortcuts used in tagalog texts?

like the letter Q? when they say "nandito na ako" (i'm already here), they say, "d2 n q" and i was like, "what? who the hell is Q?" and then later, i'd realize, they meant KO, not Q! damn! haha!!!

i mean think about it, come on!! how do you pronounce the letter Q? it's prnounced as kyu, right? not ko! then why the heck do people type Q to represent KO? isn't it like a really dumb thing to do?

maybe that's the reason why most kids and young teens nowadays don't know how to spell anymore. they are more exposed to cellphones and the internet and most of them are used to typing in SHORTCUT that often times, they forget the real spelling of the words. omg...major disaster to EDUCATION!

ok, i'm not saying i'm smart or anything. it's just that if you think about it, instead of making life easier, sometimes it makes life more difficult. it makes people doubt on whether they were typing the correct words or not. it's too simple a problem yet it complicates things afterwards.

i also have this grudge on the ME thing in sms. those times when someone would text you like, "d2 n me, wer n u?" wtf! what's with me and u? if you want to do that, why don't you just say, "wer r u? m already hir" say it in straight english, cut out with those taglish thing. believe me, THAT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR SOCIAL STATUS, for heaven's sake!

you don't need to fuck up with your typing or with your words just to look classy. even in commercials, they use that fucking thing. ME NA ME!!! duh!! what were they trying to say with that? if you translate it in tagalog, AKO NA AKO...doesn't it sound weird?

my friends and i hate that kind of texting. we even joke about it before, stuff like, "hir n me, were n u? der n b him?" and then we would laugh hard and stuff...there are people who do it because it's the trend. but before you do that, think about it. DOES IT EVEN SOUND GOOD? i think not. it sounds lame. fucked up...jeez...

well anyway, that's it for now. if you're reading this and you're one of those i'm talking about, then i'm sorry. it's my opinion, go make yours. hate me, i don't care.

i also made a video blog about this. this written blog is for the benefit of those who cannot watch my videos.

i'll make stuff again next time. thanks!

SAW 5

OMG! You wouldn't believe how it ended and I'm sure there would be no 6th sequel anymore.

So John Kramer aka Jigsaw is dead. So what? That doesn't mean his habit of playing LIFE GAMES is already over.

It was really something that you wouldn't dare to watch if you hadn't watched the first four prequels. Everything is connected. What happened in the 5th movie had something to do with what happened in the first.

The movie will definitely teach you how to trust people whom you think are definitely untrustworthy. It also challenges your rational thinking and it would even connect to the reality on how sometimes, your decisions will KILL you in the end.

There were Detective Hoffman, Agent Strahm and 5 total strangers who fell victim to Jigsaw and who must win his game so they would live.

However, Jigsaw wouldn't make anything easier. Even if he was already dead, he still made sure that all of his plans would come to action.

This movie would really make you realize how much decisions can affect your future. It would make you think on whether what you've decided was actually the right thing or would it just make you into a fool by the end.

Gruesome as this movie may be, it has it's own lessons which is the actual objective why Jigsaw did what he did. One lesson though. LOVE YOUR LIFE AND DON'T WASTE IT NO MATTER HOW FUCKED UP IT IS.

i almost fell down the stairs @_@

omg!! i almost fell down the stairs a while ago!!

fortunately, i was able to get a good grip on the banister, before the actual fall happened!

dammit!! i was already thinking how much of a disaster would it be had i fallen down.

i mean while i was holding the banister, i was frozen, my heart was pumping real fast and lots of nasty stuff ran inside my mind...thoughts like how many broken bones would i suffer...how deep would the concussion in my skull be...how many stitched would i get...i might undergo an orperation. those nasty stuff., hahaha!!

it's true. i was really scared. i was just a little thankful to my instincts. i mean even though i've got this really absent mind, i was still able to trust my personal instincts. "hold onto the banister and steady yourself"

shit. it could have been tragic! hahaha!!!

thiking about SAW 5 a lot!! =p
