Sassy Girl Choon Hyang - Jae Hee and Han Chae Young

Jae Hee - Lee Mong Ryong

Han Chae Young - Sung Choon Hyang

Who would have thought that two high school students will get married at an early age and just 10 days after they met each other?

Sassy Girl Choon Hyang is a series that will really make you fall in love and laugh and cry at almost anytime! This series also tests how much a person can live and go on just for love.

Sung Choon Hyang was an ordinary girl who lives in a village. Due to poverty, she worked a lot just to earn money. But this girl was also very intelligent and she was considered the prettiest in her school. Because of her educational ability, she has greater chance to have a scholarship on a prestigious University in Seoul.

Lee Mong Ryong was a son of a very respected Police Chief Officer. He was a bully and he loved to pick fights with his classmates in school. When his father was assigned to Namwon Police Station, that's when he met his fate, Sung Choon Hyang.

Choon Hyang and Mong Ryong's friendship started because of an accident and some cellphone dilemmas. Yet, they were good friends and Mong Ryong started to like Choon Hyang. But one night while Choon Hyang was sick and because of Mong Ryong stupidity, their lives changed.

They were both accused of sleeping together that night when Choon Hyang was sick. Well they did sleep together but nothing really happened. Mong Ryong wasn't able to go home because he accidentally drank all of the plum wine that Choon Hyang's mom made and so he slept at her room.

However, their parents found a way to solve the problem and the scandal. They decided to have them married.

And both agreed, having a contract between the marriage that they were having. And then both started living together. Mong Ryong, after being rejected by someone he liked for a long time, started liking Choon Hyang more. And Choon Hyang, seeing the bubbliness in Mong Ryong, started feeling the same.

But Mong Ryong's former love started going back to him therefore destroying his relationship with Choon Hyang causing them to break up and go on seprate ways.

Until a CEO of a very popular Talent Center fell in love with Choon Hyang. With the best he could and the money he had, he started helping Choon Hyang financially since she wasn't able to go to college because she couldn't afford it.

Mong Ryong on the other hand, continued looking for Choon Hyang and winning her again. Although her former love Han Chae Rin held on him tight, he still went to Choon Hyang whom he lved so much.

But Choon Hyang was already determined to break up with him, thinking that he wasn't over Chae Rin yet. She used Byun Hak Do to make Mong Ryong jealous and to push him away.

But Mong Ryong stayed on Choon Hyang's side as Hak Do's love for Choon Hyang became an obsession. He and Chae Rin found ways to break the happy couple up though they failed.

Mong Ryong and Choon Hyang started over as a couple but before their proper wedding ceremony, Hak Do framed Mong Ryong up on a crime which put him to jail and made his father resign from work.

Choon Hyang was forced to break up with Mong Ryong so that Hak Do will stop destroying the man she loved. She was forced to cancel their wedding and to let Mong Ryong believe that she didn't love him anymore.

And for the second time, they seprated ways which lasted for years.

But fate, truth and justice had it for the couple. They met up again this time, working together to stop Byun Hak Do from destroying Mong Ryong. And they succeeded.

So finally, they had their wedding wothout any obstacles in their lives.

A very long and complicated story yet this is the only series where I've seen a guy so determined to win back the girl he loved so much even after all that she's done.

A lot of sacrifice has been done for the sake of saving a loved one. This is indeed one of the hardest decision in life. Leaving your loved one just tospare him from danger.

But as they say, "Love will find a way" and love will indeed take you back to the one you love.

Angel in Heaven

I went to check my blog last Wednesday morning and received a shocking news in my cbox.

Andie posted that Joie died at around 7 pm last Tuesday. I didn't really know how to react as I was so shocked with the news. Then I told myself, "Ok, finally she took a rest."

I went to work, texting our other friends about the news. That's when I finally absorbed everything that happened and I started to cry.

I didn't cry because of the fact that she's gone, I cried because of the fact that I wasn't able to say a proper goodbye before she went away. Cried because of the fact that I'm gonna miss her bubbliness while we were talking. Cried because I lost my Korean-watching friend!

I really can't forget the times we spent talking about cute Korean guys on the series that we were watching and I love the way she bragged about who those cute guys are.

I can't forget the times she talks about Lee dong Wook and how handsome he is that she can't even believe he's real! Hahaha!

But after crying, I finally came to accept the fact that she's gone. That she has finally become an angel again after she was sent her eon earth to put smiles on people. I'm happy that she finally will be able to rest and find peace.

Somehow, Joie's loss brought about happiness because I'd rather see her that way that see her suffer because of her illness.

I love you Joie and you'll always be with us, I know. I know our Friendship won't be taken for granted even in the after life.

Full House - Jung Ji Hoon (Bi) and Song Hye Kyo

Bi - Lee Young Jae

Song Hye Kyo - Han Ji Eun

A house built out of love. A daughter left at an early age. A stubborn actor stumbling upon the house and the daughter.

Full house is a story of winning a lottery after being robbed. Or is it really winning a lottery or wncountering another different bad luck?

Song Hye Kyo plays the very bubbly Han Ji Eun who wanted to be a famous writer. Her parents passed away when she was young and she was forced to live alone inside the only inheritance she got from her father. The Full House.

But everything was taken away when she was conned by her bestfriends. They sent her to HongKong then sold her house to a famous actor.

Unfortunately, that famous actor was also in HongKong at that time and through all the odds, Ji Eun finally borrowed money from him so she could go back to Korea.

Bi played a very different role here. He's the famouse, controversial and stubborn actor named Lee Young Jae. Upon coincidence and fate, he met Ji Eun in HongKong and was forced to lend her some money.

When they all went back to Korea, Ji Eun found out about what her friends did and worse, she found out that the one who bought the hosue was Lee Young Jae!

Twists and turns happened until both of them agreed to marry each other under contract given that after 6 months, they will divorce and Ji Eun will get her house back. Thinking of getting her house back, Ji Eun agreed to the contract.

But things have gotten out of track when Ji Eun started liking Young Jae and slowly, Young Jae fell for Ji Eun. Hindrances came and they were forced to break up with all the love in their hearts. Young Jae tried to move on by becoming a monk but he quickly changed his mind as he thought about Ji Eun more.

And finally, Young Jae was able to confess how he felt for Ji Eun and asked her to marry him again, this time, not out of contract but out of love. True Love.

There are a lot of unbelievable coincidences in thise series as well as the fact that Ji Eunand Young Jae are both very funny couple! They fight a lot yet they find ways to show how much they like each other.

Full house is a story of high hopes and positive thinking. It'a all about finding ways to smile even with the smallest reason and being happy even in little ways. Love blooms not because it has to. Love blooms because it is your choice.

Five stars for this very funny series! :D

Memories of a Good Friend

People know her as Joie, some consider her an alien, but people who are close to her consider her a sister. A funny, very entertaining sister. Yes, that's Joelle Maxine Lindley.

I met her sometime this year when I started becoming active in the W.I.T.C.H forum. Meeting her for the first time seemed like meeting her again after not seeing her for a long time. Yes, Joie indeed felt like a friend whom I've known for long.

She's a very jolly person and although there's a language barrier between us, she doesn't make herself feel left out because she knows how to meddle with every kind of people.

Joie is someone whom you'll love just talking to her and laughing with her. She could be everybody's friend and she never chooses standards.

But then I've discovered from one friend that she was terribly sick. Her leukemia has gotten worse and now, she's spending her remaining life in the hospital.

It was indeed a shocking news knowing just weeks ago that she was doing very fine and she's gonna be active again next month. We had high hopes about her return but everything was crushed when Denise broke the news.

So sad, it has been a while since I've posted about my feelings and I did this because I just wanted to fill out my emotions. Although we haven't met personally yet, she has already grown into me and I can already consider her as one of my bestfriends.

But this happening can't be stopped when you just say stop. I think fate has had it. she has been in a lot of troubles before but she remained strong. Maybe this is the time when she truly has to let go and take a rest after all her sufferings.

I really feel bad for her fiancee and most of all for her daughter.

I'll miss you, Joie! Hope you'll stay with us since you'll be stuck in our hearts!

...ing - Kim Rae Won and Im Soo Jung

Kim Rae Won - Lee Yeon Jae

Im Soo Jung - Kang Min Ah

She never thought she would find someone to love.

He never thought he would feel real love for her.

Gang Min Ah was transferred to a new school and also to a new apartment with her mom. She was somehow happy and was enjoying her single life. However, Min Ah found it hard to have friends because she was sick and spent most of her life in the hospital. She also happened to have a deformed hand.

As unexpected as it could be, Lee Yeong Jae, a neighbor from downstairs started befriending Min Ah. He took a lot of photos of her and even took her out for a walk.

Until such time that both fell in love with each other. But unfortunately, Min Ah started to fall ill again and this time, her life became shorter. Yeong Jae then realized that he can't lose her, that he already loved her although he only started the friendship because Min Ah's mom paid him.

Min Ah's death wasn't at all that sad since throughout the days that she was alive, she found love and trust in an ordinary annoying neighbor who only wanted to see her smile.

This film was very short and I was even surprised when it ended in a snap but then within those short minutes of the film, I've already seen a lot of love blossoming between the two main charatcers.

It is indeed hard to trust someone but that someone can make ways for you to trust him. It would be either they will hold your lighter a hostage and sacrifice his turtle for you, you will still soon realize that this someone must have loved you so much to try and make you trust him.

Five stars for this movie! =)

The Man in the Vineyard - Oh Man Seuk and Yoon Eun Hye

Oh Man Seuk - Jang Taek Gi

Yoon Eun Hye - Lee Ji Hyun

Can a city girl fall in love witha farmer? Can someone who dreamed of becoming rich choose to live a simple life?

Well The Man in the vineyard will definitely answer your question. Impossible indeed but this could happen in real life.

Lee Ji Hyun was a fashion designer working on a very popular clothing line. She dreamed to have clothes branded by her name yet she didn't have the money to do so.

Being very optimistic about getting rich, she did her best to make beutiful designs to impress her boss. Unluckily, her boss was the one who took everything away from her as she stole Ji Hyun's newly designed clothes and admitted it as her own.

Having no work, Ji Hyun still didn't stop dreaming about becoming a famous designer until her grandfather came to Seoul and asked her to work in his vineyard for a year before letting her inherit the land.

Knowing what life she may have in the countryside, Ji Hyun refused her grandfather's offer but thinking about the future use of the Vineyard, she was forced to leave her city life and live in the countryside as a farmer. There, she met another farmer whom she already met in Seoul because of some embarrassing circumstances.

Jang Taek Gi was a very kindhearted but hot-headed farmer. He worked at Ji Hyun's grandpa's Vineyard since he was 7 years old. He was assigned to teach Ji Hyun farming but unfortunately, they never got along well ever since they met.

Taek Gi always made sure that Ji Hyun will have a hard time working in the Vineyard. Being a city girl, she was always reluctant in doing hardwork. But since her mom wanted her to inherit the Vineyard, she saccrificed everything just to impress her grandfather.

Together with Taek Gi, Ji Hyun learned how to grow good grapes, learned how to drive a tractor, learned how to flirt with a hot doctor who happened to be his college friend, learned how to spray insecticides, learned how to take a shower outside the house, and also learned how to LOVE.

As Ji Hyun spent her life in the vineyard as a farmer, she didn't realize that she was already falling for the simple farmer whom she despised so much at first sight. Although Ji Hyun already had a boyfriend, she still can't help noticing Taek Gi especially the things he has done to her.

Taek Gi was never Ji Hyun's type. Aside from only being a farmer, Taek Gi wasn't really good looking unlike her boyfriend who's got the looks and money at the same time.

But as unbelievable as it could be, Ji Hyun and Taek Gi slowly fell for each other despite all their arguments and grudge with each other. They both learned how to help each other and even how to show care for each other.

Indeed, Ji Hyun finally realized that it isn't money that she needed. It is someone to spend her life with, someone who loves her not because she's a city girl but because she's herself, she's Lee Ji Hyun, the girl who worked hard and cried simply seeing the result of her hardwork.

On the other hand, Taek Gi realized that a nice girl wasn't what he needed, but someone who will understand him despite his hot temper and one who will try her best to learn even the hardest things in life.

Love indeed moves in mysterious ways and you've got to experience it first before finally telling yourself that you are in love. Sometimes fate may bring the future to you and sometimes your own choice may also lead you to happiness. Had not Ji Hyun followed her heart, she might not be happy with the doctor whom she thought she liked.

Realizing that love is just right under your nose is sometimes unbelievable because we tend to think of the future first rather than the present when you could be happiest.

Five stars for this series! :D

Wishing Stairs - Park Han Byul and Song Ji Hyo

Park Han Byul - Kim Soo Hee

Song Ji Hyo - Park Jin Sung

This is the third installment of Korea's Whispering Corridors series which is so far the best out of the four installments.

A story of two bestfriends torn apart by greed and a single wish.

Kim Soo Hee and Park Jin Sung were bestfriends majoring in ballet. They were so close that even teachers find it hard to separate them.

Soo Hee was their ballet teacher's favorite and whatever mistake she made, the teacher never scolds her instead blames everything on Jin Sung.

Because of this, Jin Sung started to envy her bestfriend even though Soo Hee did everything for her.

Soo Hee loved Jin Sung so much that she never wanted to be away from her. She usually dreamed of them together going to Europe to perform onstage. But Jin Sung took everything for granted, wanting to be on her bestfriend's place.

When there was a competition for a representative to be sent to Russia, Jin Sung found herself competing against Soo Hee. But knowing that she can't beat Soo Hee, she became desperate. Until she found out the solution.

Han Ju, a girl obssessed with Soo Hee told Jin Sung that the staircase leading to her doemitory grants wishes if she finds the 29th step. According to legends, the fox grants the wishes of whoever has found the 29th step in the usual 28-step staircase.

Thinking that it's true and because she was so desperate, Jin Sung tried what Han Ju told her. Putting all her faith and heart to it, she started counting the steps of the stairs until she really found the 29th.

But she didn't know that a simple wish could lead to a big problem. Jin Sung only wished to win the competition against Soo Hee but the stairs seemed to have more in mind than that simple wish.

Becuase of too much greed, Jin Sung even managed to put some shards of glass inside Soo Hee's toe shoes, distracting her toes. But nonetheless, Soo Hee still managed to dance gracefully in front of the judges. This maddened Jin Sung more, that she pushed her bestfriend down the stairs injuring both her legs.

Because of depression about what her bestfriend did to her, Soo Hee jumped off from the hospital building killing herself. This became a huge shock to Jin Sung but she ignored it knowing that she didn't have any competition anymore to represent Russia.

But weird things started to happen after Soo Hee's death. Jin Sung has been haunted by nightmares of her bestfriend and worse was Han Ju started acting very weird after wishing from the stairs to return Soo Hee to her.

She was then possessed by Soo Hee's spirit scaring the hell out of Jin Sung. After killing her rival in arts, Han Ju started following Jin Sung as if she was Soo Hee.

In the end, Han Ju killed herself on a fire, thinking that Soo Hee has never liked her and believing that Jin Sung also never liked Soo Hee as much.

But the story didn't end here. Jin Sung was still haunted by Soo Hee and so she decided to go back and wish from the stairs to return everything back to normal.

But as unbelievable as it could be, instead of the 29th step, Jin Sung saw Soo Hee waiting for her up the stairs. Telling her how much she wanted to be with her and that she never wanted to leave her alone. She hugged Jin Sung, saying that she cannot wait for her bestfriend anymore, thus killing her the way she was killed on the stairs.

Scary huh! After watching this movie, I even told myself that I will never have a bestfriend anymore. Well this movie will really show how much one can do because of greed.

Friendship can sometimes be taken for granted especially when dreams are in line. Because of selfishness, terrible things could be done and friendship could be ruined.

But still, friendship can find a way to put things back into place. In this movie's case, killing Park Jin Sung so she can be with Kim Soo Hee once again.

Never take friendship for granted. It is only once when one can find a true friend and sometimes letting that friend go could either be hard or couldhave consequences.

Five stars for this movie! =)

Whispering Corridors - Kim Gyu Ri and Choi Sae Yeon

Kim Gyu Ri - Lim Ji Oh

Choi Sae Yeon - Youn Jae Yi

Jookran High School looked so typical fromthe outside, but inside, terrible happenings could be known. Apart from terrifying teachers who would really hurt their students, some dark secrets lie within the school which will be unveiled bythe comeback of the school's alumni, Hur Eun Young as a new teacher to the school.

Lim Ji Oh was a high school student in Jookran with high dreams. She isn't popular yet she isn't bad in school either.

Youn Jae Yi was a quiet and very dependent girl. She and Ji Oh became friends when they were assigned as the school's maintainance for the week.

Things could have gone well when the school was shocked by the death of a faculty member. Fearing that her best friend who died 9 years ago might be behind this, Eun Young found ways to solve the puzzle running in the school.

Still bizarre killing happened in the school without any trace of possible evidences until such time that Ji Oh found something she wasn't supposed to find in the place where Eun Young's bestfriend died.
The puzzle was solved and Ji Oh found out that Jae Yi wasn't whom she supposed to be.

Jae Yi has been killing the teachers in school because they love to pick on Ji Oh all the time. Being the only one to accept her, Jae Yi promised not to let anyone hurt Ji Oh.
But Ji Oh never asked for this to happen and so she convinced Jae Yi to finally stop the horrors happening in the school so everyone will be at peace.

This is a Korean Horror that will somehow leave you hanging. Well I admit that I didn't find this movie amusing. This isn't somehow the type of horror I was expecting as I started watching.
I realized as I've watched through the end that the story has a very poor plot although the characters have been so good. I was kinda disappointed in this movie because apart from "no" ghost appearances, the ending seemed a bit peculiar.

One star for this movie =/

Goong: Princess Hours - Joo Ji Hoon and Yoon Eun Hye

Joo Ji Hoon - Lee Shin

Yoon Eun Hye - Shin Chae Gyung

Kim Jeong Hoon - Lee Yul

Song Ji Hyo - Min Hyo Rin

Monarchy in modern Korea? Is it really possible? Well think of it, tradition and modernity going together. Do you guys think it's a bit slightly off key?

Well not for this most popular series in South Korea. This series dared to change the people's perspective of a Korean Monarchy.

Goong means Palace in Korean. Yes, it is indeed very significant since most of the plot in this series happened inside the palace where love and tragedy bloomed.

Lee Shin Goon was the current Crown Prince of the South Korean monarchy. Upon discovering the illness of the king, the royal family quickly fulfilled his request to have his grandson married to someone to be the Crown Princess. Shin's grandfather has made a promise with his bestfriend who was a commoner to have his grandson and the commoner's granddaughter married. Fulfilling the promise, the royal family made ways to convince the girl about the marriage.

Shin Chae Gyung was one of the commoners in South Korea who goes to an exclusive high school, majoring in arts. She goes to the same school with the Crown Prince, but unlike him, no guys or even girls flocked around her when she arrived in school except for her three bestfriends. Her common life would change though when she found out that she was the one destined to be married to be the Crown Princess.

Min Hyo Rin was the school's outstanding ballerina. She and Shin were dating when Shin found out about the political marriage. Shin begged her to marry him just to escape from that said political marriage yet Hyo Rin rejected him, fearing that she might have to give up her career as she tried to be the Crown Princess. But her decision was so wrong.

Lee Yul Goon was the original Crown Prince but because of the tragic death of his father, he and his mom were forced out of the Palace. Because of anger, Yul's mom brought him to London where he grew up. Upon hearing the Crown Prince's marriage, Yul and his mom went back to Korea for revenge in getting Yul's postion back. There, he met the Crown Princess and fell in love with her.

Complicated story? Well quite, yes. As Chae Gyung and Shin spent their married life inside the palace where Chae Gyung received training as a Crown Princess at the same time going to school, obstacles came between their relationship and the royal family as well.

Hyo Rin realized that she should have agreed to Shin's proposal. Being under the brainwashing of Yul's mom, she did her best to get Shin back from Chae Gyung, even though it meant ruining her dancing career and even her reputation.

As for Yul, his desire to become King again grew when he started falling in love with Chae Gyung. Knowing that he was the one who was orignally agreed to be married with her, he did his best to take back what was "originally" his even though his mom hated the Crown Princess so much.

These desires to get back what was lost lead to a tragedy and a great controversy ever to happen to the Korean Monarchy. But as what a story should be, everything was solved in such wonderful ways.

Hyo Rin finally realized that she cannot get back Shin's heart since Chae Gyung already had it and even though Yul still wanted Chae Gyung, he gave up his desire to be the Crown Prince just to spare his cousin from injustice.

In the end, Yul didn't become the Crown Prince anymore and Shin gave up the position also, putting his older sister to the throne as the new Queen of Korea.

What happened to Shin and Chae Gyung then? They went to another country and started a new life there. Marrying again this time not for political reasons but for love reasons.

Having a monarchy in modern Korea isn't easy. In this series, it is shown that tradition and modernity hardly coincide since the elderly have different perspectives that the younger ones. But this could make us realize that even though old traditions must be relieved in a monarchy, things could also change like the forcibly political marriage and keeping the family of non-Crown position away from the palace.

And of course, who could forget love. Well this story shows us how love can develop even between two strangers who grew up in two entirely different worlds and also how love can sometimes hinder happiness but bring back what you deserve!

Five stars for the longest Korean series ever! :D
