And oh, 2008 is also a Leap Year, right? Lucky are those who were born on the 29th of February!
So Happy New Year, everyone! I only have a few and simple New Year's Resolution for this year. That is, to find a good job where I can settle in for the year and also to save enough money for Gwen and I to go to Korea by the year 2009.
Quite a goal, huh? Haha! Well yeah, I actually thought that I wouldn't be able to live up on my dream of going to Korea because I actually thought that I would be alone if I'll go there. But then, I was enlightened when Gwen texted me and told me that she also wanted to go to Korea badly. As in badly! For I never expecte that she would be so ecstatic about it that she always talks to me about it.
Crazy, eh? Well yeah, I was so happy that finally, I was able to find someone who will be actually willing to go with me to the promised land and because of this goal, I'm sure I'll be more determined to find a good job for me to settle in.
I have a few Job goals for this year. Costumer Management on Call Centers, Medical Transcriptionist, entertainment Transcriptionist, Hotel Front Desk and English Tutor. Well, I had those target jobs based on my skills and abilities.
Since I am so confident that I'm actually good in English speaking, Those jobs would be suitable for me. Well except for the fact that my Profession is actually a Nurse. haha!
So yeah, I just hope this year, I would be more productive than the year 2007 and with my goals, I will work hard.
Not to mention, I wanna go to Manila to see the Witchies! =]

It'a been a couple of days since Christmas and I only got the time to write a blog about it. hehehe.
So yeah, Have I really been good this year? I really can't say yes because in this year, a lot of things has happened to me and I did a lot of awful things, too. But despite that, I've been pretty happy probably because of friends and family who were always there for me.
So I've been totally broke a few days before Christmas. Jeez, salaries didn't work much. I spent most of it on my new cellphone and so, I wasn't able to save more for presents. I wasn't able to buy much presents for my family and my friends, too. But I promised them that I'm gonna buy them one although it'll be later than New Year. haha. They'll understand, anyway.
So yeah. We had a simple celebration last Christmas eve. It didn't feel like Christmas though because as usual, our village remained silent despite the ticking of the clock to 12 midnight. Why's that? Well, we all know that Firecrackers and the likes are banned in Davao City. It's fine though. I'm not much a fan of fireworks anyway. hehe.
So yeah, we had some nice stuff with the poor that's why we only had a few bunch for our Noche Buena because we gave food for homeless people sleeping on an open park in our Downtown. We'll be doing the same on New Year's eve.
It was fun, though. We went to the newly opened People's Park on Christmas and had fun there and then we went to this antique shoppe which has caught people's attention for being the brightest this Christmas.
Somehow, although it was a plainly simple celebration, I had so much fun probably because we were able to do things that we don't usually do.
So yeah, I guess I have been good this year.

so sinamahan ko sis ko sa palengke last friday because she said she wanted to buy veggies there instead of in the supermarket. i haven't been on a public market for a long time so i decided to go with her and as i stepped on the ill-smelling place, i've realized na parang sobrang arte ko yata lately.
i mean, when my sis and i went out of the car, i immediately inhaled the foul smell that only can be smelled on a public market. i covered my nose with my hanky and i've noticed that i was frowning to myself as we were walking along the "aisle", my sister looking for some nice veggies to buy.
so habang busy si sister sa pagpili, i was busy looking around naman, hoping to find something interesting like rats or cockroaches or the likes. hahaha. interesting? ironic, right? it was really weird, i'm not saying that i'm really maarte or what pero i've just realized how sensitive i get when i go to places that i wasn't used to go.
so after a while, my sister asked me to go to the parking lot with my bro and wait for her there. the parking lot was by the back of the "veggie department". while my bro and i were waiting for my sis to come back, i saw some guys cleaning up carrots on a huge basin. what surprised me was that these guys actually stepped over the carrots just like they were crushing grapes to make into wine. my goodness! so that's how they clean carrots, eh? and worse, one guy wtill has his slippers on and who knows where he came from? where he stepped those damn slippers?
then my bro jokingly told me, "neym, yung americans, diba kinakain nila ng hilaw yung carrots?" and i was like, "ewwwwwww" hahaha!! oh well, i know i was overacting but to eat something that someone stepped on? wouldn't that be too degrading?
oh well, i guess i've just lived a lot through modernity where we used to shop on shopping malls and supermarkets. where we couldn't see dirty stuff and ill-battered rodents and where we can be sure that veggies are cleaned in an acceptable way.
on the lighter and off-topic note, i got a new cellphone! Sony Ericsson Z610i!

we could start with the anime first. erwin, my friend recommended this anime to me, telling me that it was really good and sweet. so being an anime addict, i also tried to watch the series. erwin and i were chatting on YM while i was watching it. he told me to watch the first two episodes for a while and tell him what i think.
well, what do you say, i ended up watching all 11 episodes in just 5 hours! hahaha! oh well, more than, i guess because i stopped for a while to eat dinner. but yeah, i was totally drawn to the story especially because i can relate to it. awww...
it's just a simple funny and hilarious love story between a girl who is unusually tall and a guy who is unusually short who aren't even on the verge of being very nice to each other. both of them always fight that they were even dubbed as "All Hanshin Kyojin" the japanese comedy duo.
but we all know that despite the hatred to each other, people who seemed to get closer really will fall in love. what touched me most in this story was that Otani Atsushi does a lot of sweet things to Koizumi Risa that she actually fell in love with him. i kinda hate that part though as it stereotyped the women being always weak and usually the first ones to fall in love. well, maybe i felt this way because in my case, i was also the first one to fall in love before. haha...
well anyway, the most amazing thing in this story was when the two main characters remained friends and how risa was determined to make otani love her despite being rejected twice and in the end, she didn't fail because just right on her birthday, under the starry sky and the fireworks, otani declared his love for risa as he kissed her passionately.
awwww, this series really made me scream, cry and laugh as i watched all 24 episodes. there was never a dull episode here and it was a really awesome story that it made me think how intelligent japanese people are for actually making this kind of love story. and even if it's just an anime, it really can touch everyone's hearts.
well of course, the concept of the movie still hasnt' changed but what was amazing with the movie were the actors Fujisawa Ema (Risa) and Koike Teppei (Otani). i actually thought that this would be dull because it's live action and it's kinda hard to copy the facial expressions made in the anime but i was wrong. the actors definitely portrayed the animated characters so well that i also loved this movie so much.
plus, there's a bonus! we all know that WaT member koike teppei played the main guy part here. he definitely gave otani's character a blast that i can't help falling in love with him over and over again. he's really a hottie and he's so much into his character that i can definitely see the cartoon otani in him.
so yeah, i guess you guys should definitely watch this! it may sound absurd, knowing that it's an anime, but it's totally different. it's something that'll really be kept in your mind, for all of your life as you try to understand how it really feels to fall in love at the very odd time. =]
definitely 5 stars

ZMOG!! i definitely have to lay my hands on the death note notebook collection that i've seen at the mall earlier! it really killed me when i saw it!
it wasn't much expensive actually but while i was there, i didn't have enough money with me that time because i only went to the mall not for shopping reasons so i wasn't much prepared when i saw the notebook. but one thing came into my mind...i really have to grab it and make it mine!
awwww, i knew i won't be able to sleep well this time thinking about it but i also knew that i would definitely get it because i want it too bad!! hahaha!!
btw, i got a new photoshop CS3. it's kinda weird though. i want imageready! huhu..
oh well, i received 37 contact requests in multiply today. made my heart skip. hahaha!!
i'm getting DN tomorrow!! i definitely am!! =]

well, it's been a while when we last ate in this fast-food center at time's square foodcourt. me, erwin and madel had lunch here one time and we ordered three different meals. erwin ordered tocilog first, then madel, being an islam, ordered for chicken-silog and i ordered a burger.
after a lapse of several minutes, an order came and we immediately assumed that it was erwin's. we didn't actually mind looking at it because at first look, you'll really know it's pork.
then we were talking and stuff when the second order came. we knew it'll be madel's because it's another rice meal and i only ordered a burger. we didn't quite notice the food because we were busy talking to each other when madel realized that it was pork which she was served with when she tasted it. wow!
we were surprised and so, we called the attention of one of the staff of the center. the girl came and looked at our orders. then she said that the chicken was the one that erwin was eating. it surprised us because we never expected that it'll be chicken because it looked exactly like pork.
so madel demanded for a change in order. at first, the staff declined, saying erwin should pay for it because he ate what was supposed to be madel's order. but we insisted that it wasn't our fault. initially, the busboy who served our orders should have told us which one was which. knowing that erwin ordered first, we assumed that it was his food that was first served.
so later on, the staff agreed to change the order and after a while, madel's chicken-silog was given. yeah, and it looked so much like chicken, not the one that erwin was eating a while ago. i examined the left meat carefully and looking at the color of it, it seemed to be more pork-like for me and not chicken. there's a lot of difference even if you just stare at it. a chicken has white meat, pork has red and chickens are more striated when you look at the meat.
it was really a terrible experience especially for madel who accidentally ate pork when she wasn't supposed to be. so a piece of advice to you. DON'T EAT AT SYM'S! hahaha!!
no seriously, when you order by bulk and it wasn't served at the same time, ask...ask the server what meal it is so that you can be assured that you're also eating the right order.
but of course, it should be the server's initial duty.jeez...

when i arrived at our review center last tuesday morning, i was so stressed out because i was late and the exam was about to start.
i was sharpening my pencil and texting at the same time when this mysterious gor-gor guy was called to the stage to perform some beatbox action. i actually ignored him and continued on doing my thing when he started to perform.
i stopped what i was doing and i lifted my head, with mouth opened. my god, he was amazing! i never thought i would be able to hear a live beatbox at that very moment and i wasn't expecting that it would be that great.
i was really amazed. i never imagined that such talent could be developed. it was just extraordinary and i just hope that this gor-gor guy will continue to develop his talent and yeah, share it to people. =]

ok, me, angelie and marie went to carmelite this afternoon to ask for a pray over. then after that, i told them that i should go home early because me and my family were going to magsaysay park for the kalimudan 2007, an exhibit of different filipino tribes.
then, angelie and marie suggested that they should go too, so the three of us went there. it was really awesome, i even told my sister to come quick because we wanted to have our pictures taken.
there were exhibits of different houses from different tribes. they were just too beautiful and amazing! you can't actually believe that these ethnic people live in those small yet creative-looking houses built out of bamboo, some scraps from the coconut tree and some lumber, without nails to hold each other but just ties from abaca. they were really amazing!
then we were so much drawn to this huge thing upstairs from one house, which bounces up and down like a trampoline as people jump over it. but it wasn't made of a rubber and some heavy duty flexible thing. it was entirely made of bamboo tied together. scary, think about it! haha! but we had fun jumping up and down over it.
the most amazing thing about it was that it has a bamboo pole at the middle which also bounces up and down as we jumped and hits a little drum from underneath creating a nice pounding sound. the person in charge there told me that if only proper dancing rhythm was made, the pounding will create a good music. but then, we did not dance. we just merely jumped! haha! it was so fun! i couldn't believe that i would be able to experience it!
then there was this nice swing thing where a member of the tribe steps on it and swings it as he dances his tribal dance. it looked so cool but when me and my friends tried it, it was not cool anymore for it really disturbs your balance! hahaha!! but it was still fun playing there! hehehe...
so yeah, we really had so much fun as we discovered how much our ethnicity made me actually proud of being a filipino! =]

being able to click on the piano keys, strum the guitar strings and sing with such a heartwarming voice. what more can you ask for this japanese-irish beauty who's just too good to be true, with a talent that everyone has wanted to have.
even i was surprised when i saw her on youtube. i couldn't believe that i was actually looking at a real person. she was just too perfect i might say to be actually living but yeah, she's a living creature! haha!
marie (mar-ye) has wished to be discovered by posting her amateur videos on youtube, singing with her guitar or piano some songs popularized by certain artists and of course, her original makes as well. she has actually captured the hearts of many youtube viewers around the world that she was discovered on an FM station as well as a late noght show in LA.
then, as if blessings came showering like the way her voice has showered inspirations to other people, she has made an album to be released in 2008 and she already has an itunes album as well.
currently, she's doing some radio tour and performances on hotels and studios as one of her promotional means all over the united states.
well, she wasn't even officially in the hollywood yet but she already has loads of fans off youtube! hehehe...including me, of course!
i definitely will wait for her album to come out! =]

The Crazy Alien
ah, i know i shall never see this funky face again and i was like feeling so bad because i had so much fun yesterday that i actually forgot it was joie's 1st death anniversary.
but i know she'll understand. even before yesterday, i was already screaming out loud to everyone that it was her death anniversary. i'm sure that already counted.
so yeah, i missed joie so so much. it has been a year since she left us but still, she remained part of us everyday. we even joke around about her coming and visiting and prue was even pretending to be her. even i was pretending to be her in TATI. hahaha!! oh well.. that's life when you're totally missing someone.
so there's not much that i can say. i just wish that she's already happy up to wherever she is right now because i'm sure her family and friends were also happy for she didn't leave any bad memories behind but those that we can definitely treasure for the rest of our lives.
love you, joie! happy deathsary! don't even know if it's really supposed to be happy. but then, i guess it should be. no reason for grieving anymore.
hehehe...well love you joe! you'll always be here ==>> ♥♥♥

yay! so i had an awesome bonding blast with some of my college friends yesterday thanks to bea and john lloyd! hahaha!!
konti lang kami actually. i wasn't even expecting na matutuloy yung pinlano namin as in last october pa talaga! heheeh...
then yeah, me, elaine, felix, erickson and robert went to watch JL & bea's movie, ONE MORE CHANCE. we were already planning to watch this since last october pa. erickson was the one who really wanted to watch this movie because he said...nakakarelate daw siya. hahaha!!
so yeah, we watched at NCC mall. although kami lang, it was still fun though. masaya pa rin naman silang kasama kasi. hehehe...we really had fun laughing and crying together! even though we strained our eyes a lot because we were seated in front, we didn't mind a single thing.
the movie was great rin naman in some ways. masasabi kong both of them made mistakes but both of them got hurt all the same. it was really what we call a definitive GIVE AND TAKE RELATIONSHIP! haha! that even after the break up, they still shared the same feelings.
it was good, really good. funny, dramatic, romantic. the actors were great! even robert and bea saw did a great job acting for the first time! hehehe...
so anyway, after watching, we met up with karen who wasn't able to come with us because she was from isulan and she was with her family. we stayed a while in KFC and there...came the revelations! hahaha!!
but i'll keep it at that. what we talked about will be between us na lang. all i knew is that we were happy that day and i totally miss them so much! so so much!

haha! so you've noticed i've been to movie marathons, haven't you? hahaha!!
well, it's sunday anyway. what can i do on a sunday though?
so yeah, i've finally seen ratatouille. it's been such a while though since it has been out on the big screen, but yeah, i still watched it anyway.
so what about this "little chef" then, eh?
well, let's say that he's actually amazed me not only with his cooking skills but his loyalty and of course, cleanliness skills. haha! a rat that washes hands before holding food! it was awesome! hahaha!!
anyway, so remy was this really ambitious rat who dreamed to become a chef. but it was impossible, of course, he was a rat.
but as remy went befriending an idiot who has to have his skills, i've realized that the chef gusteau was right, "ANYONE CAN COOK" no matter who you are or what you are, you definitely can cook.
even if you're a rat! hahaha!!
this series is really cute. although in real life, you can't actually imagine a fine dining restaurant serving you food cooked by rats! hahaha!! wouldn't it be too disgusting?
but then, it was just a movie anyway and besides, the rats were actually STEAMED by remy before they went to cook. so they were already clean, so to speak! hahaha!!
i just love disney movies, so much! and ratatouille has once again proven disney's reputation of being the best!
whoa whoa whoa wait a minute? did i just actually watch this now? as in now after 4 months? hahaha!!
well, well, well...that's the consequence of being too lazy to watch movies on cinema. i can't believe i've actually let 4 whole months slip before i've finally watched this movie which was like something that i've been awfully waiting for since the 4th installment last 2005!
well call me crazy but at least i've watched it...was it disappointing?
APPARENTLY NOT! hahaha!!
ok, let me list a few things why i actually said it wasn't disappointing.
number one. it actually difinitively awesomely was the only movie series installment which has been the most loya to the book. although of course, we cannot actually evade the cutting of some parts (which i actually understand. hahaha!).
number two. the hogwarts set up was kinda changed. unlike the prisoner of azkaban movie and the goblet movie, it has been more hogwarts-like again. just like in the first 2 prequels. hehehe... i dunno, i found it more hogwarts-like this time that the past ones.
number three. oh my god, i can't believe they've finally grown up! hahaha!! i love the characters so much! and dudley's been the worst still, ever! although it wasn't explained much on the fist part that aunt petunia knew about them dementors. hehehe...oh by the way, i didn't like the new dementor. it's ugly! hahaha!! =P
number 4. it was a really happy one. hahaha!! i know harry was meant to be too pre-occupied with what was happening to him in this installment but i find it rather amusing lately. especially with padfoot and grawp's appearances...
number five. professor dolores umbidge. aaahhh...although she doesn't look exactly the way i was imagining her, she was definitely professor umbridge...ATTITUDE-like! hahaha!!
number six: the actors' have definitely improved what with already 5 installments' worth of working together! hahaha!! daniel radcliffe isn't this lumpy tanky kid anymore. he's really grown up to be a good actor. especially in the possession part at the department of mysteries.
number seven. nymphadora tonks and luna lovegood rock! hahaha!! they actually stole the scene from cho chang and hermione granger! hahaha!! pretty actors! i definitely salute Natalia Tena and Evanna Lynch for those awesome performances. oh, i would like to include helena bonham carter's character of bellatrix lestrange, too! i love her insanity! hahaha!! and i just found out she was victoria's voice in the corpse bride! hahaha!! amazing!
number eight and last, i'd say. the ministry of magic fighting scenes! ok, a lot has been saying that this was the only best part in the movie. and i kinda agree with them! it was really amazing! i love the way the blacks and whites raged war with each other. i love the way the kids (harry, ron, hermione, ginny, luna and neville), fought for their lives even if they knew they were helpless...sadly, i love the death od sirius black and the way harry reacted on it. it was so natural...
and finally, i definitely love the fight between lord voldemort and albus dumbledore! it was really one of a kind! definitely, the most real MAGIC battle that i've ever seen out of the 5 movies! hahaha!!!
well, i can't deny that i still lov harry potter no atter what happens. i still find ways to appreciate it despite bad reviews from other people! =]

why don't they actually coincide with each other?
lately, i've been so bothered with the decline of the dollar exchange rate against peso. i remembered its peak reaching around 56-57 pesos pero dollar before and in just a matter of 2 years, i suppose, it dropped to an amazingly more than a hundred percent!
ForEx this morning closed to 42.35 pero dollar and i know it was really amazing that finally, peso is climbing up against the economy-threatening dollar.
but why am i bothered? i should be happy, shouldn't i?
well one reason why i was bothered was because my family was actually dollar earners. yeah, i won't go into details but all the same, this is what i can say. my family relies so much with the high dollar exchange rate against peso and the drop-off of dollar is actually a big disappointment for us.
next reason is that the unprogressive economy despite the shoot-up of peso. i know the increase was only against dollar but wasn't it the reason why our economy went incredibly low about a couple of years ago? because of the dollar?
then why is our economy still the same despite the increase in the peso rate? why is there still an unbelievable oil price hike? why haven't our goods returned to their original prices? why do we still have to suffer the pain of poverty despite the government's good announcement that philippines is now attracting a lot of good foreign investors that's why our ForEx rate is gradually becoming good?
why are we still troubling upon buying products because they were still too expensive for us to handle?
why aren't they actually congruent? why don't the prices go down as dollar went down, too?
don't you guys think it's just a bit unfair? or was it again...our dear president's fault?

yay!! i love my new blog lay out! hehehe...
it's just so pink, don't you think? hahaha!! it has been a while since i've changed a lay out because it's really hard to look for pretty ones.
well i'm just happy that i've found one that really suits me! it's my first time to use a lay out with clicked navigations because most of the time, i use one with side navigations only. oh well, i love it anyway. hehehe...
i'm currently listening to park hyo shin's runaway!! hahaha!! random!

ever heard of it? well, when my sister's fiancee came here from the united states last april, 2007, he brought this what i called the american version of CAPTAIN SID. haha!!
well, it wasn't only the american version because it was entirely different. it's from sunflower seeds and more, it's falovored!
eat. spit. be happy. why do we have to spit? because unlike our butong pakwan here where we pick one seed, open it with our teeth, and eat the inside.
with these sunflower seeds, we actually put a bunch inside our mouths, taste the flavors, use our tongue to transfer one seed on the other side of our cheek and bite it to open, eat the inside and spit out the shell. feels hard, eh? yeah, at first, it was hardwork. we start with a few seeds first and when we were already able to master the process, we can already put a whole lot of seeds inside our mouth!
it was really fun! indeed, it makes a person happy while eating it! haha! i've been too addicted to it, actually. hehehe..i especially love the HOT flavor where it is really hot! it really kills my tongue but i enjoy eating it! hehehe...
was just glad that steve was too generous to include at least five huge packs of david seeds everytime he sends a package to my sister!

he was the one who sang the i'm Sorry, i love you OST snowflower which i've loved so much. i was already amazed with his voice because it was really powerful and beautiful. one of the reasons why i've learned to love the soundtrack.
so lately, i've been browsing through my favorite videos in youtube. i've re-watched oh man seok and yoon eun hye's performance in the 2006 KBS drama awards, kim jeong hoon's version of snowflower in his japan concert and also so ji sub's version.
so while i was watching, i clicked on park hyo shin's version of the song. it was from a live performance where he was sick but still, he was able to deliver the song with such power. then it hit me. yes, i like him. haha! he has this really amazing part in the song which gave me goosebumps even if i wasn't listening to him live. so i started clicking videos madly.
i came across this song titled hurricane. i wasn't paying much attention to the song at first because i was concentrating on his voice when i realized that he was actually singing an english song. in perfect pronunciation! wow! this guy could speak english! so i found out that the song he was singing was an original by classic artist, eric benet.
and more english songs came. his duet with anna which is the aladdin OST, a whole new world, he also had a live performance with the hollywood band, all4one. i also saw his debut video where he sang whitney huoston's run to you. oh my god, the hair on the back of my neck stood up as he sang. it was really unbelievable! i thought he was only this normal korean artist who sings, but he was different he puts life to the song and he really can capture the hearts of people listening to him.

oh my god, i haven't actually thought about how much of a disney girl i was until i took this flixter quiz from donna, about identifying these classic disney cartoons.
i've just realized how much i've been hooking for disney stuff since i was a kid. i actually remebered all of my video cassette recorders before in my bedroom, all of which were disney cartoons. from snow white to the little mermaid to beauty and the beast. i really couldn't believe that i've outgrown them and i couldn't believe that these classic films are until now, still loved by kids.
ok, here comes my DISNEY CLASSIC NOSTALGIA! bring it on!!!

The Rescuers
who could forget about these two cute mice named Bernard and Bianca from the Rescue Aid Society who came to rescue the poor Penny from the evil Madame Medusa. I've remembered how much I've cried all throughout this movie and I couldn't forget the time when i always sing "Don't cry little one.." as penny's tears came falling to the waters.
awww...really nice movie. i think it was released around 1990 something.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame
i haven't actually seen this movie on the big screen but i've seen this on video before. i didn't actually like this one but still, i watched it since it's disney. haha!

Pocahontas
i knew about vanessa williams because of this movie. i've seen it here in davao when i first got here last 1995. i even have a T-shirt with meeko and flit along with my cousins who were also crazed by this movie.

Mulan
i think, aside from aladdin, this was one of the asian disney classic that i've seen. released on 1998, i think. i've loved her character in here and of course, who could actually forget about cricket and mushu, the great dragon?
i've also loved its OST and this was the time when i first liked christina aguilera.

The Lion King
released in 1994, i think. i remembered, i was still in manila when i watched this. i even thought that lions really were sweet talkers like the lions in this movie. i've memorized all their songs and yeah, i have a complete album of it.

Peter Pan
this was probably the oldest movie that i've seen. i haven't actually seen this on cinema (except for that one with jeremy sumpter). i've only seen this on video that was given by my aunt from the united states. so yeah, like most kids, this also made me believe that flying could actually be achieved if you think of happy thoughts. haha! silly me!

The Fox and the Hound
one of the best movies that i've ever seen. also seen this on a vcr because it's also an old film. i really loved tod and cooper so much for they have been great friends despite their differences. this movie also built a gap between me and my friend before because he actually lost my vcr when he borrowed it from me. but we're ok now. just reminds me every time i see this picture. haha!
Aladdin
i remember watching this film with my sister while she was still pregnant with my nephew. i think i was around 6-7 years old that time, it was an awesome movie. this one really had me hooked because of those genie and magic carpet things which you can't actually see often in other fairy tale movies.

Sleeping Beauty
and did i mention that peter pan was the oldest film that i ever saw? well i think this one comes second. haha! wonder how on earth was i able to watch this? well i've seen this on disney channel way-way back when they have this nice SLEEPING BEAUTY anniversary thing. well i bet princess aurora's dubber was already dead, may she rest in peace. hehehe...
Cinderella
oh my god! and as if peter pan was enough! haha! this film was released early 1950's. probably the most classic among the famous disney princesses. and i am truly amazed that even though it has already been 57 years old, cinderella is still famous among kids younger my age and it was also often revived on live action movies with a twist, of course (think the cinderella story). haha!
glass slippers, anyone?
Lady and the Tramp
awww, another classic animal movie. hehehe... i really loved the sweetness of this film and who could actually forget the sweet spaghetti dinner by moonlight that gained a lot of imitators? sweet eh?
Bambi
now, i hate this movie! haha! oh i don't actually hate it, i just didn't like it that much. i was also able to watch it on video since it was released in 1940's something. well, old movies really don't appeal that much to me, eh? haha!
Dumbo
know what, i have a feeling that i am the only one who actually knew about the existence of this flying elephant. anyone knew about him too, please raise your hands! haha!
well i loved dumbo. i loved his mom, i loved his ears, i loved the stork that brought him to his mom. i love the sadness of this movie. i also love the way it was ended. indeed, despite the differences, someone can still do something.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
alright, i didn't know that this movie was released late 1930's. haha! oh my god! think about that, that's exactly the childhood years of my grandmother! haha!
oh well, i remember having a huge story book based n this movie and my mom used to read it to me every night. yes, pabalik-balik! haha! weird, eh? yeah, i'm actually weird! haha!
Pinocchio
aww, i forgot his cat's name here but i can't quite forget his father, gipetto who lived inside a whale while in search of him! haha!
and jiminy cricket who became his only conscience while he was being turned into a bad boy by the evil stromboli! weeee! did it ever amaze you how those names retained in my mind for so many years? haha!

alright, those disney features i've posted above were only a few from what i've actually seen. they were examples from the quiz which i took on flixter from my friend, donna. hehehe...i've actually got the perfect score of answering which disney movies were those made me think that hey, i really did grow up as a disney kid! haha!
how abut you then? are you a disney kid?
other disney animated movies i've seen
three little pigs - 1933
alice in wonderland - 1951
101 dalmatians - 1961
the jungle book - 1967

the little mermaid - 1989

ah, that november 1 fever! hahaha! i really wonder why a lot of people go to the cemetery to visit their deads on november 1 when in fact, the official all souls' day is on november second.
well ok, i admit, i was one of those who had the misconception of thinking that ARAW NG PATAY is dated november first. me and my family actually went to the cemetery to visit my lola who was buried there just today.
the cemetery was packed with people. there are thousands of deads buried there times the number of visitors per dead plus the ones who go there to sell or simply to have fun and have a date. it was really a mess. looked like a huge orgy party was happeniong inside and instead of staying silent to pray for the dead, people party inside their respective tents. awww...so much for a HALLOWEEN PARTY! haha!!
speaking of halloween though, where did it actually come from? well during the ancient ireland times, halloween is celebrated as Samhain Feast which means the feast of the end of summer when on october 31st, the dead people will revisit the living world.
soon, when catholicism was introduced, Pope Gregory IV introduced Halloween as All Saints'/Souls' day in memoriam of the dead christians whom they believe will return to visit the living world by the end of October.
ah, so that's how the HALLOWEEN thing started. no wonder all monster and ghost stories come out during halloween because originally, it was really dedicated to the dead and all creatures that aren't from the living world.
so i guess i should really have attened our halloween party last 31st. hahaha! i missed a chance of a lifetime actually because of my laziness, sorry peepz! i'll just make it up to you on november 14th when we will watch One More Chance. hahaha!! rantings...rantings...rantings...i'm actually having flight of ideas here...
so yeah, tomorrow, we're going to Digos City to visit my lola's family's grave and my lolo's grave, too. but i can't go since i have a review tomorrow. awww...poor me.
oh well, it was a fun night, afterall. i had my eyes hurt from those glittering stick lights and blinking flashes! hahaha!!
awoooo!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

I had a dream last night. A wicked dream to be exact. Right after my weird but amazing dream the other night, this one followed.
Well it might seem normal to other people to have this kind of dream but for me, it's totally wicked!
Because it's all about Jed. Yes, that person! I dreamt of him and I hated it.
It was during our back to school years. We were having this really, really weird end-of-term-exams where Miss Timaan (never mind if you don't know her) was looking after us.
I was left taking the exams with one classmate and we were forced to submit it when our dean Ma'am Manalaysay went inside the classroom and asked for an urgent meeting with Miss Timaan and the rest of the division heads.
So I went out of the classroom, clad with two heavy sling bags (I defo didn't know why I was carrying two) when Jed went over and asked me to talk to him. And the convo went:
JED: What happened between us?
NEYM:
JED: You and me, Neym. We're supposed to be best friends, aren't we?
NEYM: Well, yeah.. Not until that Tara girl went crazy for you!
JED: Well, can I at least apologize on behalf of her and.. Neym, I want my best friend back.
NEYM:
JED: Neym, I'm serious! I want you back...my best friend back. Please!
NEYM: Hmm, alam mo, wala namang problem sa akin yan eh, the problem is youre girlfriend. You know how much she humiliated me when she spread this rumor that you and her broke up because I commited suicide, right?
JED: Well that's supposed to be over, I'm sure she'll understand, please. -holds hands-
Well ok, here I went, wasn't able to resist his..charm? haha! So yeah, I accepted his offer back on being his bet friend again. We sat on this mighty corridor chairs and started eating the foods served for us for some kind of a culmination lunch.
We finished eating and I called into him, asking him if he has an extra plastic bag because I lost mine. Smiling and without saying anything, he unzipped my sling bag and took out a plastic from it.
NEYM: Where'd that come from?
JED: You put it here before we ate, geek-head!
Awww, evil him! So after that, we went to his car on some mall parking lot (dreams are weird, i know. from schools to malls!) and he had a problem about the parking fee. He has to pay 1, 350 pesos. LOL! That was crazy! How can a parking fee get that big? And so, I paid the 350 and he contributed the 1, 000.
The End.

But hey, haven't finished yet! When I woke up, I was wonderign why on earth was I able to dream about him? And why that kind of dream? That kind of conversation?
Am I missing him? Do I want him back subconsciously? Or am I just not moving on yet?
Jeez, I hate this!
The End.

yehey! i'm back to random blogging! hahaha!!
i posted a blog here i think the other day and i realized that it has been a month since i left this blog hanging. yes, a month! whoa! can you believe that? why? because i was only expecting to put stuff here regarding reviews of the k-movies/k-series that i've seen.
well, i think that's not the main purpose of a blog, right? then what is? hahaha!
eh di posts! hahaha!
i'm getting crazy again. probably a hang-over from this extreme eat-all-you-can last night after we visited lola on her 9th year death anniversary. we were just supposed to go woosh and go home but we decided to eat out. haha!
so it was just supposed to be this common barbecue rice-all-you-can thing pero pagdating namin sa resto, they have a new gimik. EAT ALL YOU CAN FOR Php 99.00 only! waaa ang saya! so go! eat all you can kami!
ok naman ang foods, masyadong ma chlesterol! hahaha!!
ok so medyo peaceful na kami sa food-eating namin nang may biglang umeksena. some kinda foreigner na lasing and he was talking to the owner. the owner then was shooing him away kasi nga raw nanggugulo.
later on, we realized na indeed, nanggugulo siya because my god! he took the serving ttong from the buffet table and picked up the dessert and guess what.. SHOVED IT IN HIS MOUTH! eeewww as if that was enough! worse, he placed the tong back to the serving plate! hahaha!
adeek ren yung guard, hindi man lang siya pinigilan. ayun, the bonggacious owner went over to him and screamed at him na! hahaha! eh di natakot ang ulol atlumabas ng restaurant. -sighs-
and to think, he's a foreigner. can't anyone just pass a law against abusive foreigners? that foreigner i heard was already caught by the police before for smoking on public premises. we all know that smoking is totally banned in davao city. he was told by the owner not to smoke and still he smoked.
these foreigners actually thought they can do anything to our country because they are visitors. but hell, we also have our own laws here. we also know what we're supposed to follow and if we are obliged to follow, aren't those foreigners obliged, too?
so much for a nice peaceful dinner. hahaha!! =]

Ah, remembering those high school days! Teka, high school ba kamo? hahah!!
When Avril Lavigne's first ever single titled COMPLICATED went on air. People of all ages became addicted to this song not even thinking how it truly meant.
Even I admit that I wasn't much paying attention to the true meaning of the song...until I had a chat with Gerlie earlier and I was commenting on some people who were torrid liars. yes, LIARS! Those people who love to make other people believe that they are pretty, rich, able, whatever! Those people who somehow fear rejection if they show their true selves..
-sighs- I don't even know how it started. Oh yes, it started with a GM Ms. W has posted a group message. Well I alreadhave this previous issue with her where I hated her so much for being such a suck-up. haha! Really, she makes other people believe that she's popular in school, she's super pretty that all guys drool for her! Guy dogs, I think! haha!!
So I told Gerlie about it and there goes the rantings about damn posers and all their dirty work! Then came the other one. Miss KT.. Ok, so she's my friend. Compared to this narcissistic Miss W, Miss KT is closer to me for we've been friends for like.. sometime. haha! I don't know, basta we've been close friends ever since.
So back to the subject, I've only told Gerlie so far about my thoughts with this girl. She has posted pictures whom she claimed was her and yet, we doubted it. I mean come on, even though we haven't seen each other in person yet, there's really this distinctive features in someone whom you've already known for long and you'll recognize him/her in just one glace.
But looking at those pictures don't remind me of Miss KT but reminds me of..wait.. Han Yoo Joo? Park Han Byul? All those Korean actresses whom I can recognize.
Jeez, I don't really mean to judge but fooling someone who trusts you in that way, is just like asking someone to kill that person or worse, shoot that person in the head. We're close friends and yet she can dare fool us just to appear cool and pretty.
Worse, she wasn't just fooling others, she was fooling herself as well which is really, really, unforgivable.
Ok, compared to Miss W, Miss KT is a bit prettier, I admit. But she's pretty enough to make herself even prettier. We won't even laugh at her if a pimple pops out of her nose or something, we'll accept her even if she has an extra eye on her forehead or stuff like that.
Alright, I've been bragging a lot now! haha.. Why did I make that title anyway?
COMPLICATED:
Why do you have to go and make things so complicated
I see the way YOU'RE ACTING LIKE YOU'RE SOMEONE ELSE GETS ME FRUSTRATED....
Yeah, just a simple question from Avril. Why indeed do you people have to make things around you look complicated by fooling others, pretending to be someone whom you're not and whom you can never be.
It's just so unreasonable and no matter how many people explain it, I JUST WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND HOW A POSER CAN WORK WITHOUT BUILDING UP A CONSCIENCE!!

Park Eun Hye - Han Ji Hyun
February 29 is part one of 4 Horror Tales and this is another confusing horror film by the Korean Entertainment.
The story revolves around a toll gate personnel Han Ji Hyun whom we can frist see in the beginning of the movie as a mental hospital patient.
She tells a news reporter about her death-defying days when she believed that there was a curse by the toll-gates where klilling every 29th of February happens.
There a series of twists in this movie where one was we can see that so-called "ghost" walking around in exactly the same clothes that Ji Hyun was wearing at that same day making her friends mistake it as her.
But as the story went on, you'll soon realize that Ji Hyun has been telling stories that she herself has believed to be true. Indeed, having believed to have a bad trauma of the dark, she developed mental problems and all the ghostly appearances that she experienced while she was still senile were merely due to her fear of the dark.
But in the end, there was a more shocking discovery about Ji Hyun thatwill definitely tell the viewers that indeed, this is not just some horror movie. =]

I never thought that I would cry so hard again after shedding a lot of tears for Snow Queen until I was able to watch this higest-rated series in Korea, beating up Witch Yoo Hee and The Devil of the rival Korean Entertainment stations.
Thank You indeed was a very unique love story between a kind and simple woman and an arrogant doctor. The conflict the occurred in this series wasn't like the any other typical series because here, our main character Lee Young Shin has to live her life with two dependent people; her grandpa with dementia and her daughter who acquired AIDS through a blood trasfusion when she was younger.
Aside from these dependent characters came Young Shin's ex-boyfriend and Bom's father Choi Suk Hyun rivalring against the doctor Min Gi Suh who came to take care of Young Shin's family after finding out that his girlfriend who eventually died of cancer was the doctor who made the greatest mistake about the blood trasfusion.
This unique and touching story shows how simple people can become someone else's miracle as Young Shin and Bom made the arrogant and bastard Min Gi Suh into a total guardian angel who promised to take care of their family until the day of his death.
I cried so much watching this series and I really don't have any objections on why it became the higest-rated series in Korea when it was aired. Just like what Min Gi Suh said, "Young Shin and Bom are my miracles," this series was indeed a miracle itself opening our closed minds to the realities and life and how to simply be thankful even with just a piece of choco-pie.
Yes, this series made me love choco-pies so much that whenever I go to a supermarket, I would definitely make sure that I can grab one before going to the counter. Because just like the choco-pie, Thank You made me realize the possibilities in ones life and definitely made me smile. =]

Ha Suk Jin - Hwang Chan Min
Yun Mi So - Suh Hwa Ran
Ryan - Lee Jun Young

Ha Suk Jin - Hwang Chan Min

Ryan - Lee Jun Young
For all of the series that I've seen, Never have I imagined that there would be a series where the confession of feelings happened in the earliest episodes.
Yes indeed, Hwang Dong Gyu confessed his live for Lee Su Ha at episode 3 which shocked me at the most and I was like, "What about the upcoming episodes then? What will happen?"
I was expecting it to be a lottle bit boring in the next episodes because of the early confession but I didn't put in mind that here, there were at least two uncompetitive villains who will try to ruin the relationship unfolding between our two main characters as well as the historical property that one of them was protecting.
It may look like a typical romantic-comedy series to you but unlike those typical ones where boy meets girl, boy argues with girl, girl falls in loe, boy realizes, this on'e completely different for both the characters Dong Gyu and Su Ha were up struggling against inner emotions and responsibilities.
But then, lights have turned on in Su Ha and Dong Gyu's life catwalk and they were finally able to ramp down the platform, showing other that indeed, love doesn't choose status, ownership and love could definitely disregard the untimely happenings in the past. =]

This movie is based on a Japanese manga written by Tsugumi Ohba about an ordinary genius kid who wanted to become God after possessing a Death Note which was dropped by a Shinigami (Death God). Wanting to eliminate the criminals in the whole world, Yagami Raito (Light) used the Death Note aggresively, killing a lot of convicted and accused criminals gaining himself the name "Kira" by the police officers who were hunting him.
Aside from the police officers, the cooperation of the world's greatest detective also went out and risking everything, showed himself to Raito whom he was already suspecting to be Kira. Being very odd, L could even hind his intelligence by showing all those strange behavior that he does when in fact, competing against Raito on who will win first.
I've seen the anime and read the manga of this story although I haven't finished them yet. Being very excited to see the movie, I didn't mind the spoiler that it may bring by the end.
Indeed, I was glad that I decided to actually watch the two parts of the movie because it was only my second time to be amazed at how the plot was so much twisted to end in a better way. It wasn't much like how the manga turned out to be although I know it still has the same kind of ending.
In conclusion, all I can say was that even though L outwitted Raito and was able to defeat him, I was still amazed by how intelligent Raito was that all his plans turned out well even after loosing his memory by discarding the Death Note.
Indeed, Justice shall really prevail and for Raito and L who won't accept defeat, only death would be able to make them happy. =]

Since I was a kid, I've been hooking a lot for the Transformers animated series. It indeed took years before it has been made into a realistic movie but I think that maybe if it was made before, it wouldn't have this much of an impact probably due to bad technology.
So I admit even though I've waited too long, it was indeed a worthy wait because the Transformers movie has definitely been on the rocks!
I've liked Megatron so much even from the cartoons even though I knew he was the leader of Decepticons which is the group that betrayed Cybertron's Autobots. But the movie made me thought otherwise.
-sighs- Megatron didn't have much of an exposure in the movie, I wondered why. I mean he only went out during the last minutes when he was already supposed to fight Optimus Prime.
So I admit...my eyes vented towards the cutest Autobot, Bumblebee and indeed, he proved the viewers that he wasn't just any rundown Chevvy Camaro but he indeed was an awesome chick-magnet and loyal fighter.
I can't say much about this movie since it has only shown the common stuff about fighting to save the world from evil forces but what amazed me in this movie was the way they made the robots blend so much in the human world that in a split second, I would believe that Autobots really do exist. =]

Who would have thought that a wicked witch could actually turn into a pretty damsel in distress just because of love?
This series is one of those typical romantic comedy series but with a twist. This time, the woman was on the rich and arrogant side and the man was on the poor and pathetic side. Together with other obstacles including the father, the girlfriend, the potential man and the ex-boyfriend, a wonderful story was created.
Yoo Hee grew up to always have hatred in her heart. Living under the shadows of her father, she was forced to act like omeone who could never have friends hence she was dubbed as the Witch.
Moo ryong was a happy go lucky man who wished to become a chef and was looking up to Johnny who soon turned out to be his personal cooking instructor.
Joon Ha and Seung Mi on the other hand played the girlfriend and ex-boyfriend of our main characters but Joon Ha was the more evil one. He bound up with Yoo Hee's father to keep her from falling in love with her debtor and love consultant, Chae Moo Ryong.
I've seen a lot of love stories already and yet, I quite have different views with all those stories that I've seen. In Witch Yoo Hee, I can say that love really has the power to change one person. It can either make the person change for the better or for the worse. It can make a person think about others and it can also make one a selfish being.
In this series, we can see how much love has eaten the pride of a seemingly arrogant person and become the one who desperately wanted to cling on with the love that she had. We can also see how someone was willing to let go so as not to hurt the other and how love can integrate greed and can do anything even the worse just to get the love that he wanted.
In conclusion, Witch Yoo Hee isn't only a romantic comedy story. It is also a mirror of life's hardships when love gets on the way. =]

Lee Seo Jin - Baek Jung Won
Park Han Byul - Kim Ji Woo
Son Tae Young - I-hwa
Do vampires really exist? Are there still 300-year old vampires roaming around our contemporary world?
Freeze tells a story about two vampires living for over 300 years in modern Korea.
Some would say that this series is absurd because it carries the concept of dark creatures. But this series is one of the results of Koreans' creativity because in its 5 episodes, viewers could see and understand what contemporary vampires go through. Haing been caught between not doing bad and trying to survive, most of them were forced to kill people just to satisfy their thirst for blood while some of them use the black market to buy blood to drink.
But no matter how exciting a vampire's life can be, it could become more exciting especially if that vampire who lived under the darkness would enlighten up as one falls in love with a human.
Baek Jung Won fell in love with his former lover's daughter, Kim Ji Woo and I-hwa, not wanting it to happen tried her very best to keep them apart, even comitting heinous crimes just to impress Jung Won.
But love, once it is felt can never easily be broken apart by greed and selfishness for only in love will you find comfort from all your insecurities be it for over 300 years. This series showed how a person is willing to change and decides to live longer just for love and how this person also tries to keep his love in safety even though it meant hurting that love.
Although Freeze has quite a bad ending, I think it is great in general and for five episodes only, it can already show us a lot of things about good and bad vampires alive and how humans deal with it.
