Kalimudan 2007

ok, me, angelie and marie went to carmelite this afternoon to ask for a pray over. then after that, i told them that i should go home early because me and my family were going to magsaysay park for the kalimudan 2007, an exhibit of different filipino tribes.

then, angelie and marie suggested that they should go too, so the three of us went there. it was really awesome, i even told my sister to come quick because we wanted to have our pictures taken.

there were exhibits of different houses from different tribes. they were just too beautiful and amazing! you can't actually believe that these ethnic people live in those small yet creative-looking houses built out of bamboo, some scraps from the coconut tree and some lumber, without nails to hold each other but just ties from abaca. they were really amazing!

then we were so much drawn to this huge thing upstairs from one house, which bounces up and down like a trampoline as people jump over it. but it wasn't made of a rubber and some heavy duty flexible thing. it was entirely made of bamboo tied together. scary, think about it! haha! but we had fun jumping up and down over it.

the most amazing thing about it was that it has a bamboo pole at the middle which also bounces up and down as we jumped and hits a little drum from underneath creating a nice pounding sound. the person in charge there told me that if only proper dancing rhythm was made, the pounding will create a good music. but then, we did not dance. we just merely jumped! haha! it was so fun! i couldn't believe that i would be able to experience it!

then there was this nice swing thing where a member of the tribe steps on it and swings it as he dances his tribal dance. it looked so cool but when me and my friends tried it, it was not cool anymore for it really disturbs your balance! hahaha!! but it was still fun playing there! hehehe...

so yeah, we really had so much fun as we discovered how much our ethnicity made me actually proud of being a filipino! =]
