txt wrds...

TXT WRDS...SHRTCUT KEYS...

we do it all the time when we're texting. we omit some letters in the words to shorten it and fit it into the 160-character capacity of cellphones.

but i know we also encounter it in computers. we see it in multiply comment boxes, friendster comment boxes, myspace, forums and even in instant messaging systems.

well, seeing those shortcut words annoys me so much. because there were times when i would have a hard time understanding what the word was because it was too short. there were times when i would spend a couple of minutes trying to decipher those letters. i was like, "what was that? can you type it properly? i'm not a cellphone!"

i mean, for heaven's sake, why can't you just type the correct spelling? is it really too hard? you were given an unlimited space on the internet, or in your computer, to type anything you want. you were even given 26 separate keys on your keyboard so you could type the words with ease.

then why do you still have to waste your time, trying to type in shortcut keys? i tried doing it, and i find it really hard to do, because i'm used to typing the whole words in the computer.

just think about it. you're in the cyberworld! you meet people who don't know you from head to toe. you don't only talk to your friends and not all people can understand your version of shortcut words and not everyone are fond of reading STUF LYK DIS! i'm one of those, that's why this kind of thing annoys me big time!

save yourself from annoying others. JUST TYPE PROPERLY. IT WON'T KILL YOU!!!

anyway, let's go back to the SMS thing on cellphones. you know those shortcuts used in tagalog texts?

like the letter Q? when they say "nandito na ako" (i'm already here), they say, "d2 n q" and i was like, "what? who the hell is Q?" and then later, i'd realize, they meant KO, not Q! damn! haha!!!

i mean think about it, come on!! how do you pronounce the letter Q? it's prnounced as kyu, right? not ko! then why the heck do people type Q to represent KO? isn't it like a really dumb thing to do?

maybe that's the reason why most kids and young teens nowadays don't know how to spell anymore. they are more exposed to cellphones and the internet and most of them are used to typing in SHORTCUT that often times, they forget the real spelling of the words. omg...major disaster to EDUCATION!

ok, i'm not saying i'm smart or anything. it's just that if you think about it, instead of making life easier, sometimes it makes life more difficult. it makes people doubt on whether they were typing the correct words or not. it's too simple a problem yet it complicates things afterwards.

i also have this grudge on the ME thing in sms. those times when someone would text you like, "d2 n me, wer n u?" wtf! what's with me and u? if you want to do that, why don't you just say, "wer r u? m already hir" say it in straight english, cut out with those taglish thing. believe me, THAT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR SOCIAL STATUS, for heaven's sake!

you don't need to fuck up with your typing or with your words just to look classy. even in commercials, they use that fucking thing. ME NA ME!!! duh!! what were they trying to say with that? if you translate it in tagalog, AKO NA AKO...doesn't it sound weird?

my friends and i hate that kind of texting. we even joke about it before, stuff like, "hir n me, were n u? der n b him?" and then we would laugh hard and stuff...there are people who do it because it's the trend. but before you do that, think about it. DOES IT EVEN SOUND GOOD? i think not. it sounds lame. fucked up...jeez...

well anyway, that's it for now. if you're reading this and you're one of those i'm talking about, then i'm sorry. it's my opinion, go make yours. hate me, i don't care.

i also made a video blog about this. this written blog is for the benefit of those who cannot watch my videos.

i'll make stuff again next time. thanks!
