Dhawell, Pablo and I went to SM City to while away the rain before going home and couldn't help but notice this extraordinary project from Aboitiz - an exercise pedal machine which converts your energy to electricity. :)

To prove the effectiveness of this converter, they put a free cellphone charging station and so, we tried to see if it really worked. Guess what? It did! :))

The converter is in its supposed to be wheels. :)

Saw this pupa on our clothesline earlier. The worm was wriggling because the pupa was almost cut off from its hanging place and I did my best to save it. So yeah, I hope it’ll become a very pretty butterfly. :)

My friend Ceejaye drew this on an envelope containing freebies from one group during our seminars in Ateneo. :) We were planning a Boracay trip at the time. Too bad it didn’t happen. lol! :))

Classes tomorrow. Trying to keep up so I can finish reading Chapter 1 of Schwartz. :)

Finished watching The Roommate. Leighton Meester did a great job here, although the movie was very predictable. The suspense was less than what I was expecting. But it’s watchable though. Cam Gigandet was hot, but he acts so-so, really. lol! :)

P.S. I love how Nina Dobrev made a cameo in this movie. :)

Study Desk Makeover

So my friend suggested that I should take a before-after picture of my desk; before the makeover, and after the makeover.

But I’m sort of worrying that I might disappoint myself after. You see, I’m not much of a decorator, and I wasn’t any good at cleaning my own mess. So I was sort of worried that my after might not look as much different from my before.

But I guess I’ll try my best though. I’ve been running some drafts on my head already and hope it would work. :)

FYI: I love to buy really old books on sale at bookshops. Those that cost less than a hundred bucks but with a good quality story. :)

One more week before the start of class. I actually couldn't wait to be back to school, but I'm dreading the first day. lol! :))

Just finished watching Letters to God, and I’m still crying. :( It was based on the real life story of a cancer patient who prayed to God by writing him letters. Tyler was such a brave boy. I was touched by his courage and deep faith in God. :)

Grrrr...X-Men on 3D, or not on 3D? Kung Fu Panda 2 on 3D, or not on 3D? May kasama na akong manonood! Libre! hahaha! :))

I could easily get affected by other people's stories.

Errands finished. I'm taking a shower now before going to school. Was supposed to go early, but I had to run some errands, so yeah. :)

I wanna watch Kung Fu Panda on 3D today. :)

Hukad

Hukad is a Visayan term which means to "scoop up". It is usually used in terms of food, especially rice when you need to scoop up some rice and put it on your plate.

Hukad Restaurant was opened in Abreeza, and it sounded tempting because number one, it is Davao City's original, and I knew it would satisfy the tongues of Davaoenos.

So, my family and I tried to eat there one time. They had best sellers such as Kare-Kare and Crispy Pata. We ordered Kare-Kare but it wasn't available anymore so we just resorted on Laing, Shrimps, Crispy Pata, Pork Sinigang, and Pancit Guisado.

The ambiance was great though. The staff were good in serving and were very approachable. The restaurant was a little packed, too, considering that Hukad in Abreeza is probably it's first in Davao.

What caught my attention was their "chandelier" design. Do you know what "Puso" is? It's steamed rice wrapped in coconut leaves. I don't really know how it's made, but it tastes a little different than a normal steamed rice. You can actually eat it alone.

Since they try to be as native as possible, they cover their plastic plates with a banana leaf.

Finally, our order came. I wasn't able to take a picture of the Laing and Fried Shrimps because we were so hungry we devoured it first.

So the Crispy Pata was big, but its bones are what made it big. It tastes normal, and could become tastier with the help of spicy vinegar. It was crunchy enough though. :)

The Pork Sinigang was all pork fats. We only found a couple of meat which my brother ate. The soup was sour enough though. The waiter was supposed to have the meat changed, but we just decided to get on eating all the fats. lol! :))

The Pancit Guisado was too sweet for a Pancit Guisado. lol! :)) It was also painted dark, and my sister even commented that they are rich in soy sauce. I really love noodles, but this one wasn't too good for my taste. :)

Funny thing about Hukad is it literally does the "scoop up" thing. Like scooping up a lot of rice for their Bottomless Rice promo. I got really full after eating, not because the food was great, but because the rice just kept on coming for us. lol! Plus, I loved their container, really. :))

Finally, I was able to have a picture with my steamed rice container. hahahaha! :))

So yeah. For me, Hukad is just around 6/10. The 6 goes to the rice, the ambiance, the waiters, and the rice container. lol! :))

It irritates me when someone tells me not to do something and I totally know what I am doing. :|

I slept early last night and woke up pretty late today. I didn’t even know if Darleen really called last night, or I was just dreaming. But then I saw my call history. She really did. I couldn’t remember the conversation anymore though. :))

I'm not tired, but I'm really sleepy. It just sort of hit me that I literally didn't sleep for 24 hours. lol! :))

We were from a medical mission at Callawa and got back to downtown pretty late. But we still managed to celebrate Bryan's dinner at Buffet Palace.

It was a strictly no-surprise birthday party, so it was sort of boring. lol! :)

So wheres the supposedly "equal treatment" to all prisoners, rich or poor if they would propose that "Pay to Stay" Program that Miriam Santiago suggested? Every prisoner should serve their years equally and without any special treatment even if the richest could afford it.
