The Legend of Seven Cutter - Ahn Jae Mo & Yoon Eun Hye

Ahn Jae Mo - Jung Han Soo

Yoon Eun Hye - Han Min Joo

Jung Han Soo was a bully feared by everyone. He has a notion of cutting his enemies, 7-centimeters in length with a cutter. And now, he has transferred to a new school.

But the Han Soo who transferred was not the one they all feared, but someone who's got the same name as the untimely legend. And so, Han Soo did his best to prove that he wasn't the guy they expected him to be.

With the involvement of the biggest bullies in school led byBaek Sung Gi and a tomboy chick Han Min Joo who eventually fell for him in the end, Han Soo tried his best to clear his name up.

This could be one of those considered as mistaken identity movies, but being mistaken as a ellish bully could sometimes have its own ups and downs. But then, one should always be able to understand what one tries to explain so that misunderstandings wouldn't arise and further cause trouble. =]

My Girl and I - Cha Tae Hyun & Song Hye Gyo

Cha Tae Hyun - Kim Su Ho

Song Hye Kyo - Bae Su Eun

If anyone who reads this has seen the movie based on Nicholas Sparks' A Walk to Remember, then this story won't be new.

This is a story about two high school classmates who eventually fell in love with each other. Su Eun, the prettiest in their school has suddenly turned her head to Su Ho, the not so ordinary guy.

Su Ho then, suddenly liked her since he cannot resist her charm. But Su Ho didn't know that Su Eun was already fighting aginst Leukemia at that time and soon, he realized that the girl he loved the most was already dying.

Some may say that this story was very predictable and so common, but for me who loves sad endings, it's still as new to me as seeing a very original movie.

Describing this movie, I could say that it's just the same as every leukemia movie I've seen but the plot has been different and the way the story was shown, it was really worth watching. =]

Dasaepo Naughty Girls - Park Jin Woo & Kim Ok Bin

Park Jin Woo - Anthony

Kim Ok Bin - Poor Girl

Eun Song - Double Eyes

Kim Byeol

Lee Kyeon

Lee Min Hyeok

Lee Young Joo

Nam Oh Jeong

Park Hye Won

Yoo Geon

Yoo Joo Hee

On the first part of the movie, people who watch it might get disappointed thinking that it was just another perverted crazy comedy. But as the movie progressed, you will realize that indeed, the story isn't only superficial but it has a deeper meaning.

The story is set on "No-Use High School" where the student body comprises of sexually ambiguous teenagers. But as what a typical high school should be, there were some students who cannot actually fit in to their environment.

There's this girl who carried poverty on her back. She was forced to sleep with older men in order to make money to pay for her family's debts.

Then Anthony, some handsome rich guy who transferred from Switzerland and the one-eyed guy termed "Cyclops" who retains a virgin even after all the criticisms he got.

"Poor Girl" has fallen for Anthony the first time she saw him but Anthony thought that they were very much different. Poor girl leaves on a cramped squatter's area while Anthony's parents were both diplomats.

Anthony however has fallen head over heels with Cyclops's pretty little sister but then he found out that she's transsexual.

Poor Girl struggles hard to earn money to help her family until she bumped into this rich cross-dresser who asked her to be with him whenever she needs help. And so by accident, Poor Girl was exposed dancing crazily on the internet and for a short period of time, she became popular.

However, certain problems occurred in school as girls suddenly became serious with their studies. Later on, they found out that some hideous monster who wanted to turn teens into nerdy virgins was behind this.

There were a lot of twists and turns as this movie is watched but in the end, life has its own miracles. During their graduation, "Poverty" who stays clinging on Poor Girl's back finally decided to leave her, transferring onto Anthony whose parents went bankrupt.

Indeed, life sometimes could be a soap opera.

As I've said, you may think this was just one random crazy comedy created by weird Koreans but as you think deeper, this movie shows life's realities, just in a hilarious way.

It has shown how a person can do anything just to strive off from poverty, it has shown how a person adopts to a place where he was supposed to grow up.

This movie also has shown the expectations of a society towards teenagers. Teenagers should remain pure until they are married but nowadays, we can only barely see teens like them. Just like in the movie, among the whole class, only one has remained a virgin and that only virgin was left to be discriminated and laughed at.

But then, people, even teens have their own right. Own right to do what they want and be responsible of their actions. Indeed, this movie shows the independence and courage of teenagers to stand in their own feet.

This also shows the discrepancy of trans gender. People might think that transsexual individuals are bad luck or not fit to be in the society but these people also have their own reasons in life that's why they decided to be different.

All we need in this world is understanding. No matter how different, weird and difficult life may be, if we understand each other's actions and thoughts, then we could live in a better place. =]

Innocent Steps - Park Gun Hyung & Moon Geun Young

Park Gun Hyung - Lee Young Sae

Moon Geun Young - Jang Chae Rin

They say dancing is everything. When a person knows how to dance, then that person has everything.

This movie is about the Best Dancesport Instructor in Korea, Lee Young Sae, who lost hope in dancing when his leg was badly injured by his rival during their championship.

Two years after, his friend forced him to dance again and brought him a girl from China who was also good in dancing. But then, it turned out that it wasn't the girl instead, her sister, Jang Chae Rin went there in her place. Worse, Chae Rin didn't know a single step in dancing.

So Young Sae went back to basics in teaching Chae Rin, telling her to love him while they were dancing, to put all her trust and feelings in him and to feel the rhythm of his body. Little did they know, as Chae Rin learns to dance, they were already dancing their way through each other's hearts.

But problems occured when Young Sae's friends who asked him to get back into dancing betrayed him and sold Chae Rin to his rival. In the end, Chae Rin had no choice but to be the rival's dance partner. But even though Chae Rin has changed her dance partner, she still didn't change her feelings toward the man who patiently taught her to dance even though he knew she was a hopeless case.

This movie made me cry a lot! Really beautiful! Not only the dance moves but the story as well was mesmerizing!

Sometimes, you think that waiting for the man you love is better then looking for him. Like fireflies, once the lover won't arrive, the firefly's light will fade away and they will die.

Dancing doesn't only require talent and skills. It also requires trust, emotions and of course determination in learning. Even though a person doesn't have any hope to learn new things, if that person is willing to learn and of course, trusts her teacher, she will be able to learn no matter what and even circumstances change, a person still shouldn't forget about what the other has done to her.

This is now my new favorite movie! =]

Sex is Zero - Im Chang Jeong & Ha Ji Won

Im Chang Jeong - Jang Eun Shik

Ha Ji Won - Lee Eun Hyo

You may think that this is only one of those perverted hilarious movies shown on the big screen but think again. Sex is Zero brings us life's realities and the consequences it may give us.

This story tells about an innocent poor guy who's only got his eyes on the campus hottie. Jang Eun Shik was always tricked by his perverted friends however, his heart remained pure.

Lee Eun Hyo was one of the popular girls in campus. She belonged to a group who knew nothing but to practice for the Aerobics Competition and have fun with boys.

Lee Eun Hyo has deeply fallen for a guy who happened to be a total player. He accidentally impregnated Eun Hyo and took no responsibility for it.

Then came Eun Shik to the rescue. Even though he knew that Eun Hyo didn't like him, he helped her in getting rid of the baby.

But as easy as the abortion went, came the consequences for Eun Hyo however, Eun shik swore never to leave her side, even pawning most of his belongings just to provide Eun Hyo the comfort she needed.

This movie was really hilarious, random, stupid and pervert but you would never realize that it could actually teach you life's lessons that not even serious movies can teach.

The love that a person feels toward the other, even though it cannot be paid with the same amount of love can still be very powerful especially at times when the other party needed you the most. Even if that person has her eyes on someone else, as long as you keep holding on and continue loving unconditionally, you can still get what you long desired and that is the love from the person you loved.

This movie also teaches us how it is to be unsafe wen having sexual intercourse that's why in schools, sex education is indeed very important. A night of pleasure for one could be 9 months of suffering for the other and worse, could even cost a life from an innocent unborn being.

Mistakes can be made and as what they say, regrets only happen in the end. But still, whatever mistakes we make, we should always take responsibility for it and face the consequences with courage. =]

100 Days with Mr. Arrogant - Kim Jae Won & Ha Ji Won

Kim Jae Won - Lee Heong Jun

Ha Ji Won - Kang Ha Yeong

Kang Ha Yeong was so depressed after being dumped by her boyfriend just a day before their 100th Day Anniversary. In frustration, she accidentally met a college guy when he hit her with a soda can which she kicked and damaged his car.

Because Ha Yeong was poor, she wasn't able to pay for the damaged car and so, Lee Heong Jun let her sign a contract to be his slave for 100 Days. Desperate, Ha Yeoung signed it and she was forced to clean his house, do his laundry and run errands for him.

But during the 100 Days that they've been together, the two of them gradually realized that they were falling for each other...Although Heong Jun wasn't able to express it right away and still waited for Ha Yeong to reach college before he finally confessed.

Being with a person for more than three months could already create miracle even if that person was the most annoying person in the world.

Love can indeed change people and love can make a person change someone. This funny crazy movie can really make you fall in love and can even give you hope that somehow, someone would always come to your life, whether accidentally or really meant to be.

Snow Queen - Hyun Bin and Sung Yu Ri

Hyun Bin - Han Tae Woong/Han Deuk Gu

Sung Yu Ri - Kim Bo Ra

Im Ju Hwan - Seo Geon Woo

Yoo In Young - Lee Seung ri

Han Tae Woong was poor but a math genius who got into a prestigious science high school through a scholarship. There, he met his rival, Kim Jung Gyu who was popular in Seoul for being excellent in mathematics.

Jung Gyu and Tae Woong didn't start good when they first met each other. Because Jung Gyu refused defeat, he competed with Tae Woong even though Tae Woong was unwilling to.

But both of them became best friends in the end and together, they showed the school the real work of geniuses. At the same time, Tae Woong met a mysterious girl whom he never knew the name. They met twice and spent happy moments together on thos meetings.

But things became unfortunate for Tae Woong when his best friend Jung Gyu died after being frustrated because Tae Woong won the gold medal for the International Math Competition and not him. Depressed because he disappointed his father, Jung Gyu died on a road accident.

Because of this, Tae Woong blamed himself for the death of Jung Gyu ang decided to live a miserable life. He ran away from home and became a boxing sparring partner, in fulfillment of his best friend's wish to become a boxer. He dropped out of school, and eight years after, lived under the name of Han Deuk Gu.

One day, he once again met the girl whom he wasn't able to meet eight years ago because of Jung Gyu's death. That girl was Kim Bo Ra, the mysterious kid he met when he was in high school.

For fifteen years, Bo Ra has lived under the illness called Myasthenia Gravis. Because of this, she has become stubborn and will do anything to get attention. Her meeting with Deuk Gu was one attention-seeking meeting since at the hospital, she was threatening the physicians and staff that she will kill herself. But Tae Woong managed to stop her.

That wasn't their last meeting though. Deuk Gu and Bo Ra met again until they weren't able to avoid each other. Deuk Gu became Bo Ra's chauffeur and Bo Ra's father started liking her. Soon Bo Ra was able to find out that Deuk Gu was the "oppa" she met and liked eight years ago. And soon too, Deuk Gu found out that his best friend, Kim Jung Gyu was Bo Ra's older brother.

Because of this, even though they have feelings for each other, Deuk Gu decided to leave Bo Ra and her family however, Bo Ra kept on following him, telling him that she would never blame him for her brother's death.

They continued their relationship but there were obstacles coming now. Plus, Kim Bo Ra has developed Thymoma (cancer in the thymus cells) which metastasized and made her heart go weak.

Will their love for each other prevail? Will they still be able to go to Lapland together where the Snow Queen lives? And will Kim Bo Ra still live longer to fulfill Han Tae Woong's wish of having a family with her?

The Snow Queen is based on the Book of Hans Christian Andersen that tells a story about a woman with a heart as cold as snow. The Snow Queen is alone and lonely, but one person was able to make her happy and was warm enough to melt her heart.

Kim Bo Ra lived miserably under the shadows of her strict father and the memories of her dead brother. On the other hand, Han Tae Woong lived miserably under the shadow and memories of his dead best friend.

This series tells us how people, though have lived hardly for so many years would still be able to survive and soon be happy for some reason. This exceptional drama can touch the hearts of any viewers because this is not just a typical tragic drama where we can already predict what will happen in the end.

In this drama, things will really surprise us, especially because we usually think that people like Tae Woong and Bo Ra deserved a very happy ending. Too bad they didn't, but as what Tae Woong always says, "Live...Living is better."

Special recognition to the amazing actors. Hyun Bin really has set power in his character, making it more realistic, and making the viewers cry. Sung Yu Ri fit her character so much as being stubborn yet childish.

Five stars for my new favorite series! =]

He Was Cool - Song Seung Hoon & Jeong Da Bin

Song Seung Hoon - Ji Eun Seong

Jeong Da Bin - Han Ye Won

A highly hilarious movie! Song Seung Hoon played a bullying hunk who has a bad past. Together with the late Jeong Da Bin, they made the big screen shake with laughter!

Ji Eun Seong was everybody's hunk. He was also a senior bully who wasn't scared of anything thrown in front of him.

Han Ye Won was a bubbly high school girl on the same school with Eun Seong and because of a very unavoidable circumstance, they hooked up together and Eun Seong asked her to be his girlfriend.

Not knowing how to love and having no one to love him, Eun Seong kept on bugging Ye Won even though she didn't want to go out with him. She despised Eun Seong so much.

But as she got to know more about him and his lonely past, Ye Won was determined to stay by Eun Seong's side, to make him happy and to make him feel the love he didn't get since his father died and his mom left him.

As what my friend said when she lent me this movie, "Indeed, love has it's own way of creating miracles!" Yes, it's true! Because it would take a miracle to make someone who was hardened by his past to be melted just by an ordinary girl.

It is stereotyped that ordinary students can never go out with popular ones but this movie proved the speculation wrong. If love can find a way, it will indeed find a way for two hearts t meet on the first snowfall.

Five stars for this hilarious movie! =]

My Little Bride - Kim Rae Won & Moon Geun Young

Kim Rae Won - Park Sang Min

Moon Geun Young - Suh Bo Eun

Sang Min and Bo Eun's grandfathers were bestfriends since before their parents were born. As a pact to their friendship, both have agreed to have their children married to each other. However, they both ended up having sons and so the marriage was passed to the third generation.

Sang Min and Bo Eun were agreed to be married by both families but there was a catch: Bo Eun was just a 15-year old high school student while Sang Min was a graduating college student majoring in Arts Education.

But because of her grandpa's deteriorating condition, Bo0 Eun was forced to marry her "oppa" and they lived on the same house together.

Not in love with each other, both of them acted as if they were just siblings and were often fighting with each other. Bo Eun even dated the popular baseball player in her school and Sang Min continued being a playboy.

But the times they have spent together didn't go to waste as Sang Min started to feel bad when he found out about Bo Eun's boyfriend. Bo Eun on the other hand, didn't just feel guilty towards her oppa, but she also felt that she needed to straighten her mistakes especially after seeing that Sang Min has done a lot of things for her.

In the end, Bo Eun managed to tell the whole school as well as the whole world that after living with him trhough fixed marriage, she has finally fallen in love with Sang Min.

Indeed, strange things like this could work out well. Thinking about the age, it's really impossible to hook a kid to an adult but My Little Bride thought otherwise.

Even by growing up together, age could still be one barrier to make love blossom but if the love can find a way, it can really find a way and it will really make two people with a huge age gap to fall in love with each other.

Five stars for this cute and funny movie! =]

Tree of Heaven - Lee Wan & Park Shin Hye

Lee Wan - Han Yun Suh

Park Shin Hye - Hirose Hana

Asami Reina - Maya

Uchida Asahi - Fujiwara Ryu

Park Shin Hye and Lee Wan acted together again as step-siblings.

This story is so similar to SBS's Stairway to Heaven which was shown in 2003. Both Lee Wan and Park Shin Hye acted as the younger Han Tae Hwa and Han Jeong Seo in STH, where they were step-siblings.

But this time, twists are different and the step-siblings have really fallen in love with each other.

Hirose Hana is a Korean-Japanese who lived in a small town in Japan with his mom, aunt and cousin, Maya. Hana's father died when she was eight and her mom was left to manage their small in.

When Hana was 18, her mom re-married another Korean man and she brought him to Japan together with his son, Han Yun Suh who became autistic since his mom died. Yun Suh loved to walk bare-footed in the snow, waiting for his mom to return.

Even though Yun Suh doesn't speak, Hana still tried hard to take care of him, even trying to learn Korean for him. She did her job as a dongsaeng (little sister) to her oppa (older borther).

But when Yun Suh's dad and Hana's mom went out for a vacation, Hana's aunt and cousin have suddenly changed their attitude. With the absence of their parents, the aunt and cousin abused the step-sibs by not giving them food for breakfast, and letting Hana work all over the inn.

Because of this, Hana and Yun Suh found refuge in each other. Yun Suh slowly became cheerful whenever he's with Hana and soon, he fell in love with her.

Hana knew this would happen as she was also slowly falling for her step brother but because she knew it was illegal, she tried to hide her feelings and went out with Fujiwara Ryu, a senior in their school who also happened to like her.

But Yun Suh was determined to make Hana love him too, although it made his step sister very uncomfortable. Finally, because of Hana's resistance, Yun Suh left her on the day of her graduation.

Two Years later, Hana and her best friend Mika have mastered Korean and used the language as their conversational language as they worked in Ryu's hotel as chamber maids. Ryu wanted to give Hana a better job inside the hotel but she refused, wanting to work the way she worked in their inn before.

Hana and Yun Suh's path crossed once again when he started to take care of her. Though Hana didn't know, she had been doubting that her oppa was just around, watching out for her. Indeed he was. Yun Suh became the gang leader of a secret society in Tokyo, having almost murdered the leader of the gang's enemy.

Because of this, he became rich and so he was able to take care of Hana without problems. However, being with Hana also meant putting her life in danger. So he tried to be with her only as a brother, but Hana this time wanted to love him as a person especially after finding out that their parents have died in a car crash 2 years ago.

Meanwhile Maya, Hana's cousin became a hostess on a nightclub and the mistress of Yun Suh's gang father. Seeing Yun Suh, she fell in love with him, and was determined to take him away from Hana.

But Hana won't stop. She let her oppa go two years ago and this time, she wanted to hold him beside her, never letting him go...

But...will their love still be the same as two years ago now that they are leading different lives and some people are already blocking their path?

This mini-series portrays the other outcome of Stairway to Heaven had Han Tae Hwa and Han Jeong Seo pursued their love as step-siblings.

Like STH, this also has a sad ending which will really make you cry buckets of tears.

Tree of Heaven tells about the undying love of two persons regardless of status and regardless of the law. They may be siblings by law but for them, being legally related won't stop them from showing their love for each other.

Although this series is really sad, it still made me realize how much a person is willing to give up just for the one he loves, even if it meant losing his happiness.

Special salute to the actors Park Shin Hye and Lee Wan for portraying such awesome roles! I never thought they could act this great! They even made the characters seem real.

Five stars for this series! =]

This is another tragic Korean series that will really make tears flood your face. From the beginning till the end, the characters will really make you smile, cry and even groan.

It is rare to have someone love you until death or is even willing to give heaven to you. Stairway to Heaven has its reason to make viewers happy even though it has a sad ending.

Al throughout the end, they never showed anything but the willingness to wait and fight for the one they truly love even if it meant giving up the life they used to have.

The four of them started new lives. Hyeok Joo being the lead singer in Gangster, Rex signing a contract from another recording studio, Hee Soo gave up being a singer and ended up being a DJ and Sang Mi was torn between her loyalty for Rex and her love for Hyeok Joo...

This story shows the different faces of the different people in showbusiness. Watching it, you'll realize that not all famous people are indeed living a happy and carefree life. They also have hardships of their own that only them can know because they should show a different side when in front of the fans.

This can also show us how strong love could be that even two people from two different worlds could fall in love when they meet, even if they despise each other a lot!

My Name is Kim Sam Soon - Hyun Bin and Kim Sun Ah

Hyun Bin - Hyun Jin Hun

Kim Sun Ah - Kim Sam Soon

Jeong Ryeo Won - Yoo Hee Jin

Daniel Henney - Henry Kim

Kim Sam Soon could be the one of the class of girls whom you'll say ugly. In this contemporaty world, having a little bit of fat could be considered ugly. And that's Kim Sam Soon.

After she was dumped by her boyfriend for three years on Christmas Eve, Sam Soon gained more pounds because her habit of eating could also come with depression. Plus, she was fired from her work as a Pastry Chef.

Wanting to pursue her dream of being the best pastry chef and wanting to do something to make her forget about her boyfriend Min Hyun Woo, Sam Soon ran onto a business manager who knew nothing but to yell and be stubborn. His name's Hyun Jin Hun. He was the heir of the Seoul hotel at the same time, managing a small restaurant which was just left by the pastry chef. Having no choice and having stumbled upon Sam Soon, Jin Hun hired her to be the pastry chef for the restaurant and at the same time, be his girlfriend.

They were already having a good time pretending to Jin Hun's mom that they do have a relationship and Sam Soon started to fall for Jin Hun when Yoo Hee Jin, Jin Hun's ex-girlfriend came back from the United States after receiving treatment for her cancer, and wnt back with Jin Hun.

However, Jin Hun may still have love left for Hee Jin but he was becoming more confused as he sees Sam Soon with another guy and feeling jealous about it. Soon, he finally came to realize that he indeed was falling for the fat pastry chef.

And so he broke up with Hee Jin and tried to pursue his relationship with her amidst his mom's disagreement. And despite all the hardships they went through, they still went out and fought for their love.

This is the only Korean series I've seen in where I was deeply amazed by the chemistry and sweetness of the characters. Even if it's on-screen, they do look like a real couple for having portrayed such wonderful roles! My Name is Kim Sam Soon was the only series in where they give meaning to being a true woman and true love. Love doesn't only require physical appearance rather it requires all aspects in life, especially trust and faith.

5 stars for this hilarious series! =]
