Vicente Sotto Memorial Hospital Scandal (CEBU)

A canister of Body Spray was inserted on one person's anus. Yes, it really required thorough operation to remove the canister especially since it wasn't supposed to be where it was.

We were all shocked when the news about the Cebu Canister Bottle broke out and a video has been spread.

The video showed the patient being operated on as doctors, interns, nurses and student nurses watched. It wasn't actually a big deal, but as the people around have started laughing at the unconscious patient and when the video has been pointed on the patient's operated site, then it became a moral issue.

As I've watched the whole uncut video, I couldn't help but feel ashamed because I am also a nurse and I've already experienced assisting an operation.

The one taking the video was narrating what happened to the patient while on the background, the surgeon and his assistants were laughing and making fun of the procedure.

It was also disturbing to see the operating room look like a party place in the video. Supposedly, the only allowed people inside an OR were the surgeon, the assistant surgeon, the scrub nurse, the circulating nurse, a couple of nursing students and their clinical instructors.

But in the video, I've seen several students, nurses and doctors as well, as if they were watching some Record Breaking show and cheering upon it.

It was really a shame in the medical field. Supposedly, we were the ones who are supposed to promote the patient's health and welfare by treating them, taking care of them, and respecting their confidentiality.

The patient's face may not have been exposed in the video, but all the people who were inside the OR knew him and as the video spread throughout cellphones and streaming sites, more and more people were able to find out about the identity of the patient or shall we say, the victim.

The scandal was even worse than any other sex scandal that I've seen, for it didn't only show the patient's private parts, it also violated the person's human rights and it also showed the unprofessional-ism of the doctors and nurses who were involved in the operation.

I don't deny that at some point during one of my assistances in an operation, we couldn't help but joke around and laugh around the case that we were working on, but the scandal that happened in Cebu was a different story. There, they didn't only simply joke around, but they also abused the person's right to privacy without even asking his permission.

Even if the Priests of Cebu blamed the victim for his immoral acts which resulted to having the canister bottle up his private part wasn't convincing. Because setting aside what the patient did prior to the operation, the fact that these medical professionals have done something out of the morality of one human being was what was in issue. It'll still be the same perhaps even if the patient wasn't that guy who's got a canister up his rectum. Maybe even if it was a different patient, this could still have happened.

I just hope that justice for the victim can be achieved in a short time and I hope that those medical staff who were involved should have their licenses revoked for a lifetime.

Robber - Jang Hyuk and Lee Da Hae

Jang Hyuk - Kwon Oh Joon
Lee Da Hae - Jin Dal Lae
Kim Jeong Tae - Kim Jin Goo

S Y N O P S I S:

Kwon Oh Joon is a swindler who falls for a widow with a 5 year old daughter, Jin Dal Rae. Dal Rae lives with her daughter and mother in law after her husband passes away. Oh Joon is a suave man who can talk women into doing anything.

R E V I E W:

One thing I can say. If you are a person who easily gets bored, you couldn't watch this series. In my opinion, though.

True, it has a nice story and a nice plot, but I wasn't satisfied with how each episode ran in one hour. There are lots of boring scenes, say, scenes that shows one character alone and cryin, or thinking or just plain silent. And those scenes last for about 2-3 minutes. Sometimes, in one episode, approximately 4-5 scenes like that were shown.

But nevertheless, the story was great. Sometimes, when you see these kinds of series, where one character goes sick, you will expect them to die in the end and hurt your feelings as well as their loved ones.

But Robber didn't end up the way I expected it to be. Oh Joon, who got sick didn't die in the end instead, th ending showed a happy ending of the two main characters living happily together in one house, like some ordinary couple.

Tubbataha is a reef ecosystem made up of two atolls located in the middle of the Sulu Sea. It is a sanctuary for marine life. The reefs lie on the Cagayan Ridge, a line of extinct underwater volcanoes which starts from the north at the Sultana Shoal and ends in the south at the San Miguel Islands. It is located 92 nautical miles southeast of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan and 80 nautical miles southwest of Cagayancillo, the municipality that exercises political jurisdiction over it. It was proclaimed as a National Marine Park on August 11, 1988 and inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage in 1993, in recognition of its outstanding universal value in terms of marine life species diversity and richness.

The name Tubbataha comes from the dialect of the Samal, seafaring people of the Sulu region, and means 'long reef exposed at low tide'. Tubbataha consists of two atolls made up of roughly 10,000 hectares of corals and many other forms of marine life. There is very little land in Tubbataha. Each atoll has just one islet, the highest of which is only two metres above sea level. The atolls have shallow lagoons and are surrounded by 200 to 500 metres of reef flat which ends in a steep drop off into deep water. The reef crests, which mark the atolls' edges, are exposed above the water's surface at low tide.

Tubbataha is well known among the fisher folk of the southern Philippines. It was called 'Gusong' by the islanders of Cagayancillo, literally meaning 'coral reef.' Until the late 1970s, Cagayanons were the primary users of Tubbataha's resources. During the summer months, they would make month-long fishing trips in fleets of locally built wooden sailboats called pangko or balangay.

For most of its existence, Tubbataha's remoteness has been its greatest protector against over exploitation. It is open to the shifting winds that affect the Philippines - the habagat, amihan and daplak which bring rough seas, fierce storms and brief periods of calm. The safest months for travel to Tubbataha are during the summer months, from March to May.

The first recorded visit to Tubbataha was made by naturalist Dean Worcester in 1911. He described the north islet - called Bird Island because of its role as a nesting ground for thousands of seabirds - as 'a low, flat, sandy island…some 400 metres long and 75 metres wide.' Seventy years later, when ornithologist Robert Kennedy visited the island, he noted that it had shrunk in size by almost 70 per cent. Today Bird Island is a mere 23 per cent of the area recorded in 1911, just one indicator of how dynamic the forces of nature are at Tubbataha.

Global Warming - What Can We Actually Do?

I was watching GMA's SIGNOS last Sunday and was thinking as they were telling us about the signs of Global Warming and how much would it affect our world in the next 100 years.

It has been 13, 500 years since the last rise of water happened. The water has risen 6 kilometers which actually erased a whole lot of small island pieces off the face of the earth and not longer than a hundred years, if Global Warming will continue, the water from the seas will again rise to 12 kilometers, probably will be able to cover up almost half of the Philippine Peninsula.

I remembered the summer of 2005, when I still have to wear a jacket when going out of the house because it's always so cold. Like everyday, and I never felt anything that's beyond my hotness scale. lol. It was really a total difference just three years after when you already cannot go out of the house, because you'd rather stay inside and have your air-conditioner with you all day.

It's really annoying, especially when there's this important thing that you have to do in the morning and the moment you get out of the house, you'd already feel like you've never taken a bath for several days. You never wanted to style your hair or put make up on because doing so will sweat the hell out of you.

So what can we really do about Global Warming? Can we really help prevent the soon to be HUMAN RACE extinction?

The main reason why there's this Global Warming is because of the newest technology that people nowadays can't live without. Electricity, Gas, Cosmetics, Wireless equipment. All these are material things that our ancestors weren't able to experience during their years but we are already claiming that we would die without them.

I admit I'm one of those claimers. I've been living my whole life off the internet now and cellular phones, televisions, cars...

But to prevent Global Warming doesn't mean that we have to eliminate these advancement that we already lived off in the 21st century; but we have to find ways on how to not use them to the extreme and add up to the CO2 gases that trap the sun's heat from going out of the earth.

Simple stuff like saving electricity, using recyclable materials to prevent garbage, walking on short distances instead of using personal cars, lessening the use of sprays that contain CFC can already help in preventing the advancement of global warming.

Some say that it is already too late for us to stop the progress of this pandemic problem, but as long as billions of people are still alive on the earth and are aware of Global Warming, then it is never too late.

We can still do something about Global Warming. We shouldn't be threatened by the signs rather, we should be motivated to save our mother earth for our future.

Web Content Writer

Part-time. Home-based. Freelance.

What is a Web content Writer? Well, as the name suggests, it means that this particular person writes articles to be posted on websites. It can either be for a particular site or it can also go through a certain company who will sell the articles to the sites.

My friend introduced me to RapidEdge. A Davao-based content writing company that accepts any free applicants who are good in article-writing. And so, I tried out and submitted a resume via e-mail.

I was asked at first to submit a 300-word introduction about myself and I was given 3 Evaluation articles containing 400 words each.

After a while, I got accepted and I started writing 5 different articles about Teenage Pregnancy. Causes, Statistics, Quizzes, Facts about the matter in America. I only received 500 Php for those articles that I submitted but it was already worth it.

It was actually my first time to know about how a web content writer works, and I realized that it is really fun and sometimes, can even help you with your English grammar skills.

Handwriting Wizard - Freakingly ACCURATE!!

I was laughing while reading my results because they are so damn accurate! Why don't you try it, too? =]

Go here: HANDWRITING WIZARD

Noname is moderately outgoing. Her emotions are stirred by sympathy and heart rendering stories. In fact, she can be kind, friendly, affectionate and considerate of others. She has the ability to put herself into the other person's shoes.

Noname will be somewhat moody, with highs and lows. Sometimes she will be happy, the next day she might be sad. She has the unique ability to get along equally well with what psychology calls introverts and extroverts. This is because she is in between. Psychology calls Noname an ambivert. She understands the needs of both types. Although they get along, she will not tolerate anyone that is too "far out." She doesn't sway too far one way or the other.

When convincing her to buy a product or an idea, a heart rendering story could mean a great deal to her. She puts herself in the same situation as the person in the story, yet she will not buy anything that seems overly impractical or illogical. Noname is an expressive person. She outwardly shows her emotions. She may even show traces of tears when hearing a sad story.

Noname is a "middle-of-the-roader," politically as well as logically. She weighs both sides of an issue, sits on the fence, and then will decide when she finally has to. She basically doesn't relate to any far out ideas and usually won't go to the extreme on any issue.

People that write their letters in an average height and average size are moderate in their ability to interact socially. According to the data input, Noname doesn't write too large or too small, indicating a balanced ability to be social and interact with others.

Noname is sensitive to criticism about her ideas and philosophies. She will sometimes worry what people will think if she tells them what she believes in. This doesn't mean she won't talk, or that she feels ashamed. It merely means she is sensitive to what others think, regarding her beliefs.

Noname is not facing something going on in her life today. She is deceiving herself about it. Often, Noname's opinion of herself is different than those around her. This trait gives Noname the ability to deny anything that does not agree with her "truth." This trait is not always something negative. It is only a defense mechanism allowing Noname not to face some reality in her life at this time.
Noname has a desire for attention. People around Noname will notice this need. She may fulfill this need by a variety of ways depending on her own character.

Noname can be defiant. She sometimes has the attitude that if someone doesn't like it the way she is doing it, then they can just "go to hell!" This trait may reveal itself in a rebellious nature that is always ready to resist forces which she thinks are infringing upon her freedom of action. In reference to Noname's mental abilities, she has a very investigating and creating mind. She investigates projects rapidly because she is curious about many things. She gets involved in many projects that seem good at the beginning, but she soon must slow down and look at all the angles. She probably gets too many things going at once. When Noname slows down, then she becomes more creative than before. Since it takes time to be creative, she must slow down to do it. She then decides what projects she has time to finish. Thus she finishes at a slower pace than when she started the project.

She has the best of two kinds of minds. One is the quick investigating mind. The other is the creative mind. Her mind thinks quick and rapidly in the investigative mode. She can learn quicker, investigate more, and think faster. Noname can then switch into her low gear. When she is in the slower mode, she can be creative, remember longer and stack facts in a logical manner. She is more logical this way and can climb mental mountains with a much better grip.

Noname is a practical person whose goals are planned, practical, and down to earth. This is typical of people with normal healthy self-esteem. She needs to visualize the end of a project before she starts. she finds joy in anticipation and planning. Notice that I said she plans everything she is going to do, that doesn't necessarily mean things go as planned. Noname basically feels good about herself. She has a positive self-esteem which contributes to her success. She feels she has the ability to achieve anything she sets her mind to. However, she sets her goals using practicality-- not too "out of reach". She has enough self-confidence to leave a bad situation, yet, she will not take great risks, as they relate to her goals. A good esteem is one key to a happy life. Although there is room for improvement in the confidence catagery, her self-perception is better than average.
Noname is sarcastic. This is a defense mechanism designed to protect her ego when she feels hurt. She pokes people harder than she gets poked. These sarcastic remarks can be very funny. They can also be harsh, bitter, and caustic at the same time.

Noname has a healthy imagination and displays a fair amount of trust. She lets new people into her circle of friends. She uses her imagination to understand new ideas, things, and people.

The Red Shoes

Kim Hye Soo
Kim Sung Soo
Park Yeon Ha

Synopsis:

The Red Shoes tells the story of Sun Jae, a thirty something eye doctor and dutiful wife who ends up finding a pair of abandoned shoes in the subway. She quickly takes the shoes as her own, but in the process, eventually discovers that these seemingly harmless items may possess a frightening power all of their own!

Review:

This is another of the movies I've seen which ends up in a very unexpected way. The Red Shoes however confuses the viewers on whether these deadly shoes are really connected to the story or maybe the main character was just simply insane.

Many viewers said, that she may be the incarnate of the previous owner of the red shoes but as the story ended and everything was discovered, we find out that there were already horrible incidents that happened even before she took the Red Shoes home.

What I love about this movie was the way they use children as one of the main characters, it really shows the awesome talent children have especially on movies such as these.

Well, we might all be confused on why it was called the RED shoes when in fact, the shoes was pink. Some say it's because RED represents death and such. Just one thing to learn: NEVER PICK UP ABANDONED ITEMS WITHOUT KNOWING WHERE IT WAS FROM.

My Teacher

Oh Mi Hee - Mrs. Park
Seo Young Hee - Mi Ja/Jung Won

Summary

Some alumni and their teacher meet for the first time in 16 years at a small class reunion in a countryside cottage. But the happy reunion turns into a nightmare as they are brutally murdered, one by one.

Old grudges and hidden truths from the past, surface in a series of unforgettably gruesome murders.

Review

At first, I thought this movie was a horror movie, until such time that I realized it wasn't. Because it's a movie about revenge and insanity.

I've heard a lot of comments about this movie saying that it only has one moral lesson: NEVER TREAT YOUR STUDENTS BADLY. And so, I got curious and I watched this.

Indeed, it's true. I've realized, that not because you're a teacher, you already have the right to scrutinize and embarrass your students in front of other people when you didn't like them.

This movie has a very unbelievable and surprising twist which you will not discover, unless you watch it through the end. Indeed, not all people who look good can do good.

Muoi - The Legend of the Portrait

Jo An - Yoon Hee
Cha Ye Ryeon - Seo Yeon

SYNOPSIS:

Yoon-hee, a novelist, desperately seeks for a new story and that’s when she hears from Seo-yeon, her friend in Vietnam, a very tempting story about a legend of Muoi’s portrait.

A long-time grudge makes Yoon-hee hesitate to go to Vietnam to meet Seo-yeon. However, fascinated by sources of the portrait Seo-yeon incessantly sends her, Yoon-hee heads for Vietnam to unveil a century-long legend of the portrait.

Yoon-hee is stunned by Seo-yeon’s dazzling look never seen before but is readily welcomed by her friend.

As Yoon-hee unveils the mystery of Muoi, Vietnam, seemingly an exotic place, turns into a setting of a living nightmare, and the secret of Muoi in buried as if never to be revealed.

REVIEW:

It is a very unlikely story and one of those which will kind of leave you hanging in the end. Although there were lots of unanswered questions, I can still say that this movie is somehow good, especially the way the supposed to be ghosts made efforts to hide their real identities both from the main characters and the viewers as well.

Moui's story was believed to be a betrayal of friendship and others believed that it was about a betrayal in love. As the story unfolded, many revelations have been shown and little by little, you will understand why the once attractive woman Muoi has come back to the earth and continued raging the curse of revenge even through a hundred years.

I really love the way the movie has unfolded and the truth was revealed that somehow, I couldn't blame both Muoi and Seo Yeon for coming back and seeking revenge even after their deaths.

I also have noticed Seo Yeon's dresses. They were all Vietnamese-inspired and so beautiful.

Cello

Sung Hyun Ah - Hong Mi Ju
Park Da An - Kim Tae Yeon

SYNOPSIS:

Mi-ju's day has gone badly; her career as a musician and a teacher is stalled, a former student threatens revenge for a bad grade, an invitation to a concert reminds her of a friend's fatal car accident, there's a near accident on her drive home, and when she arrives, things are momentarily creepy.

That night, a ghost visits her, and everyone in her household, including her dog, her sister-in-law, her husband, and their two daughters, are at risk. Over the next few days, the past takes on new importance. As people die horrid deaths, Mi-ju must discover where the evil resides. - CRUNCHYROLL

REVIEW:

This movie was kinda confusing, I admit. Everything, starting from the beginning might be very clear to you but as the truth unfolded and the end was in sight, everything became a mere confusion.

This is merely a story about a cellist seeking revenge after she died from a car accident with her jealous best friend. Even after several years, after her best friend alsready was living peacefully with her family, she still wanted to remind her about what she did over and over again.

The movie ended telling us that Mi Ju, after having experienced the most horror in her life, was actually only had her psychological mind traumatized after a fatal accident. She thought that everyone including her dog in the household have died and all because of Tae Yeon, her best friend whom she hated because she was always on the limelight.

What she did was unforgivable and I think there's a reason why Tae Yeon should actually seek revenge. And her revenge was far more scarier than Mi Ju seeing ghosts. She actually avenged her mentally in which everything in her life seemed to go over and over again as she believed that her family was being murdered only by her own thoughts.

Art of the Devil 2

Napakpapha Nakprasitte

SYNOPSIS:

A sequel in name only to a 2004 film (Khon len khong), Art of the Devil 2 is about a teacher, portrayed by Napakpapha Nakprasitte, who has a cruel prank played on her by some students. She then turns to black magic to exact revenge.

REVIEW:

I say this one is better than the first movie where everything has been a flashback from what has happened in the present and everything has been known since the beginning of the movie.

In Art of the Devil 2, although we already knew who the "bad person" was as we watch the film, there were still other far more shocking revelations where you can say that in fact, these victims were the reason why the teacher has been a bad person.

I love the way the victims died and I couldn't believe that Thais can actually make gruesome scenes that seemed so real. All those torturing moments and cursing scenes had all been awesome and realistic and the actress also did a great job for her superb acting.

One Missed Call 2

Mimura - Okudera Kyoko
Yoshizawa Hisashi - Sakurai Naoto

SYNOPSIS:

Set a year after the original, One Missed Call 2 introduces us to Kyoko and her friend Madoka. Both women are teaching assistants at a kindergarten in the middle of Tokyo and when the pair aren't working, they seem to spend a lot of time in a Chinese restaurant where Kyoko’s boyfriend, Naoto, works. It is here that Kyoko first encounters the cursed ringtone.

While enjoying a night out with friends at a Chinese restaurant, Kyoko receives an eerie call, but strangely, instead of dying three days later, tragedy strikes almost immediately and not to Kyoko directly. Since one of the deaths in the original film occurred on television, both Kyoko and Naoto are familiar with the urban legend and find themselves at a loss as to how to solve the problem. Luckily for them, a plucky journalist named Takako (Asaka Seto) is on the case, enlisting the help of Detective Motomiya (a returning Renji Ishibashi) who's pieced together quite a bit about how the curse works.

Takako and detective Motomiya investigate the original cellphone murders, searching for Mimiko's grandparents. Takako visits Taiwan and finds Mimiko's grandfather dead, cellphone in hand. She discovers from her ex-husband, Yuting, that similar mysterious deaths are occurring there, and that both he and she are slated to die within an hour of one another. Kyoko and Naoto follow her, and the trio visit a ghost town where nearly all of the inhabitants have been slain by the curse of a girl named "Li Li," who was frequently bullied and abused, and eventually buried alive in a local mine.

The three investigate the town and are assaulted by numerous apparitions resembling both Li Li and the corpses of their slain friends. Kyoko is trapped by the vengeful spirit of Li Li, but Naoto is able to bring her to safety. They are pursued by the ghost, and Naoto sacrifices himself by answering Kyoko's ringing cell-phone.

Some time later, Kyoko recovers in a hospital bed. Takako checks her messages and discovers she has one missed call. The call reveals that Detective Motomiya has died in a car crash but not before telling paramedics, "It's Mimiko. Mimiko is here." Some officers from the Taipei Police show up in Kyoko's room and reveal that two bodies were found in the abandoned mine. Confused, Takako goes to Yuting's apartment and discovers his corpse, as well as a video camera which seems to show herself stabbing him, similar to the way she herself was stabbed in the mine by Mimiko. She opens her cellphone, and notices she has a missed call from herself, stamped with the current time, and spits a red candy ball from her mouth.

REVIEW:

Although for me I thought that the first movie was better, I still couldn't help but salute this second movie for it was good as well.

The only thing that I didn't like ablut this movie was the collaboration of Mimiko, the missed call killer and the Taiwanese "witch" kid named LiLi. It made the movie more weird and expected and less scary anymore.

But nonetheless, I still like the actions in this film, especially the sacrifices of the main characters for the one they love and some shocking revelation that even the dead couldn't imagine.

Overnight Trip @ Isla Reta. April 6-7, 2008

BRIEF OVERVIEW: Isla Reta is a resort located at Talicud Island, which literally means at the back of Samal Island. It is an hour boat-ride from Sta. Anna Wharf and one of the yet unspoiled beach resorts in the Island Garden City of Samal.

Isla Reta has its own "lantsa" as what they say or the yacht in English. First trip to the Island was at 9 am which means we arrived at the resort at around 10 in the morning.

We immediately cooked our grilled lunch as we arrived at the resort and we got our "Nipa Hut" cottage where we will sleep. Talicud Island doesn't have an electricity line yet so the resort was run by a generator which was only turned on from 4pm to 6am.

When the sun started to set at around 4 pm, I started to dip my body on the water which of course looked like a swimming pool. We spent a few hours on the sea, going up the mini wharf from time to time to watch my brother and my nephew catch some fish.

It was fun when the tide goes up because the end of the wharf becomes deep, and that was when me, kuya and rap-rap would start swimming by jumping to the water, going up, and jumping again.

I got pretty tired since I woke really early that morning. We were supposed to stay at the nipa hut cottage but the management said there isn't any "electric fan" to be provided inside and looking at the mosquito-infested place, we changed our minds and transferred to the concrete cottage instead.

I showered up and changed into new clothes but that didn't end our day. We went out again and wen to the far end of the resort where there were no cottages anymore rather, there were loads of huge rocks and trees. We had fun picture-taking there until such time that we all really got tired and went to sleep.

My clock alarmed at 5am. I woke my mom up and the others but I went back to sleep because I was too sleepy. I woke up at 6:30 am and went swimming once again for the tide ws so high and the wind was blowing fiercely that waves form like rolls of clouds in the sky.

Before we ended our day, we went back to the far end of the resort, for the morning pictorial and at around 12 noon, we took our boat back to Davao City.

It was really a fun and worth it beach experience. It was our first time staying on a resort in Samal because most of the time, we do Island Hopping which was also fun, but really brief.

Even though I had my period that day, it didn't stop me from having fun. The only thing that I wasn't able to do was to make a bonfire at night because we weren't allowed to. But that was okay, at least I still had fun. Really fun!

One Missed Call

Kou Shibasaki as Yumi Nakamura

SYNOPSIS:

Yumi Nakamura (Kou Shibasaki) grows concerned when her friend Yoko receives a mysterious message on her cell-phone in her own voice, with a time-stamp in the future. A few days later, at the time appointed on the cell-phone message, Yoko is thrown in front of a train. Though the police determine the death a suicide, Yumi grows even more concerned when another friend receives a threatening message on his cell-phone, presaging another death.

Yumi is approached by Yamashita Hiroshi (Tsutsumi Shinichi), whose sister's death was also linked to an odd cell-phone message, and the two team up to solve the mystery. They are unable to prevent the death of another of Yumi's friends, but soon trace the calls back to the case of a woman whose daughters were regularly admitted to a local hospital with suspicious injuries. The two investigate the woman's last known whereabouts, an abandoned hospital. Once there, Yumi confronts a vengeful ghost in an attempt to break the chain of violent deaths. - WIKIPEDIA

REVIEW:

This movie was really fun! This was so far the only good Japanese horror movie for me since The Ring and The Grudge.

Indeed, Japanese ghosts have a hi-tech way of killing people. Through a cellphone which is of course, a trend in the country.

I love the way the characters die on the time of their death and I love the way they were forewarned about thier death. There were also scenes where I get goosebumps and I get a bit scared, especially when there were parts where I get surprised by a sudden appearance of the "ghost".

It was also a very unbelievable ending. As the mystery has been solved, I couldn't actually believe who the ghost was and who was doing all those deaths.

I also love the creepy ring tone used in this movie. So much different from the one used in the Hollywood version. This one was scarier. I remembered before when my friend told me that she has a "One Missed Call" ring tone and played it for me. I haven't seen the movie yet that time so I just ignored it when I heard it.

But as I've watched the movie last night, I kinda got obsessed ith the ring tone and the moment I woke up this morning, I immediately downloaded it and made it my main Message Alert tone and Ring Tone as well.

I haven't seen the Hollywood version of this movie yet but I'm sure nothing can surpass the way this movie was made.

Art of the Devil

SYNOPSIS

ART OF THE DEVIL is a Thai horror film focusing on the investigation into the sensational murder of a millionaire's family.

After police fail to uncover the evidence needed to charge the millionaire's mistress, a young crime reporter discovers how the woman committed the murders... she used the dark art of witchcraft!

REVIEW:

So it wasn't really a horror film but it has the participation of the "other beings" as the story focuses on a revenge of a mistress who was abused and abandoned by a wealthy man as she got pregnant with their baby.

There were a lot of gruesome scenes in this movie but I think there are more gruesome ones in the second movie which of course, I haven't seen yet because it wasn't available in the collection that I got.

It was pretty devastating on how the revenge on the wealthy man became a serial killing activity as the mistress also killed the man's family.

The Victim

Pitchanart Sakakorn as Ting/May

SYNOPSIS:

Ting is a struggling young actress who one day is noticed by Royal Thai Police Lieutenant Te, who heads up the crimes re-enactment unit and is always on the look-out for fresh talent. Ting is put to work playing the victim in photo shoots with the hand-cuffed accused killers and rapists at crime scenes. The photos are published in Thai newspapers as a means of the police publicizing that they have closed the case and done their jobs.

Ting takes a liking to her job, and is so convincing that even the criminals are moved to remorseful tears. Her popularity soaring, Ting is signed to play the lead in a film based on one of her true-crime re-enactments - the murder of Meen, a former Miss Thailand whose husband, Dr. Charun, is accused of the crime. Ting then starts experiencing some scary visions that lead her believe that Meen's longtime friend, Fai, is responsible.

Then it is revealed that the events were actually entirely a film about Meen's murder, and Ting is merely a character being played by another actress named May. - WIKIPEDIA

REVIEW:

Just like any other Asian movies, everything will be understood at the end. Just like what the synopsis has said, everything from the beginning is believed to be actually happening but in the end, you'll realize that everything was only a part of a film being made for the life of Ting, an aspiring actress who worked as a re-enactment actress for the national police.

As things have twisted after the true plot has been revealed, we will also soon discover that everyone, including May has fallen to be the VICTIM of an evil spirit.

Alone

Marsha Wathanapanitch

SYNOPSIS:

Looking roughly at Pim’s life, she is just another ordinary woman. She moved from Thailand and started a new life in Korea with her caring and loving husband. But one night, a phone call from Thailand changes her life forever. Pim learns that her mother is gravely ill with an unknown disease, and she and her husband Lee rush back to Thailand.

The moment she arrives in Thailand, the flashbacks begin-painful memories, long buried, along with a strange familiar feeling. These things only grow stronger, as she reaches the house where she grew up. She is inundated with a nostalgia that is sweet, but with an undercurrent of terror, a realization that someone is “there,” right beside her, always. And that someone had always been there.

The secret of Pim and her family has slowly been revealed: she was once a Siamese twin! Ten years ago, Pim and her conjoined twin sister underwent as operation to separate them. But her sister died during the attempt. And now, Pim suddenly feels her presence once more, relentlessly.

Will she regain the normal life she once had – her own and hers alone?had – her own and hers alone?

REVIEW:

At first, I actually thought this film was a Korean film because the setting started in Korea where Pim lived peacefully with her husband.

But as things went by in Thailand, a lot of things happened that made me stick my eyes on the screen for the whole time, asking questions on "WHY" and "HOW"

The great twist on the story will make you think about a lot of possibilities as the film was running. It will make you impatient about what will happen in the end and how the "ghost presence" was connected with what was happening to the main character.

Then as the secrets unfold, things also become drastically different, from ghosts to obsessed lovers, to serial killings. ALONE will really rack your brain until the end of the movie.ally rack your brain until the end of the movie.
